Pit Fire

This weekend is the pit firing I've been planning since August. The weather has held up nicely, with bits of sunshine now and then, and so far no rain. In fact, things have gone so well that I'm back home, with nothing planned for my now empty evening. I can't help but think that if I'd planned better, I'd have known I'd be free to take part in an evening activity. Instead, it seems to late to RSVP and attend. Ah well.

I suppose this gives me more time to rake leaves prior to Monday's collection.

Just after we got the fire lit, I came home to let Ding out. After a bit of an internal debate, I decided to take him with me back to the art center. He has not been well for the past 2 weeks (an day of testing is scheduled for Tuesday). As a result of not feeling well, he is much subdued and seems to want to always be in the same room of the house as I am. Why not take him with me to keep him close, now that I needn't worry about him trying to get into everything?

Up to the art center we went. I was quickly reminded that among the pottery folks there we have a much larger number of dog people than I normally encounter in one spot. Ding stayed pretty close to me (not just because of the leash), and was quite tolerant of all the petting and love he got. (I suspect he also appreciated the fire.) At the same time, I was able to keep an eye on him and make certain he was drinking water.

I've got my fingers crossed that the vet will be able to determine on Tuesday what is wrong with him.
