Old Timey Fic Archives: At the end of all things

So, I was just looking through my old writing notebooks and found this. It's a Lord of the Rings ficlet from 2004. This hasn't been seen by anyone in years, so I'm inflicting it on you. Enjoy.

Title: At the end of all things
Characters: Frodo, Sam
Ratings/Warnings: PG for mild randy hobbit talk/spoilers for Return of the King
Word Count: 230
Summary: A friend asked me to write Frodo/Sam slash. It didn't exactly work out.

Frodo drew Sam's weary head to his own and touched them together softly. "I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee," he said, "here at the end of all things."

"I'm glad as well," Sam replied tearfully. "Mister Frodo?"

"Yes?" answered Frodo.

Sam scratched the back of his head. "I'm...really glad to be with you. I mean, you've got no idea how truly glad I am. I mean, I've sort of always wondered I guess, if you ever thought there was a chance the two of us could be more than friends?"

"My dear Sam," Frodo said, and sighed. "Don't make our last moments on this earth awkward."

"All right, Mr. Frodo." Sam leaned back on the rock, thought a moment, and said, "Well, what about a kiss, then?"

"No."

"Just a little one? No wandering hands, promise."

"Sam!"

"I know, I'd be a fool to make that sort of promise--"

"AWKWARD!" Frodo said, giving his loyal gardener a horrified look.

"I'm sorry," Sam said, wringing his hands together. "It's just that ever since the black tower, I haven't been able to stop thinking of stripping you back down to that lovely little body of yours and kissing those wounds until you're all better."

Frodo stared. Sam pulled at a stray thread on his shirtcuff.

"I'm sitting over here until the eagles come," said Frodo, sliding away a safe distance.

Also found in the same notebook: a page which only reads: "I'm-a no makin' a commotion, you-a makin' a commotion!" Me of 2004 was a mysterious creature.

I can't stop trying to find ways to fit this sentence into my daily life. This may be a problem.

idek, crap from my old writing notebooks, fic: lord of the rings
