OMIGOSH YOU HAVE YOUR HOUSE DONE ALREADY?!?!?! FOR REAL?!!?!? OMIGOSH THAT'S SOOOOOO EXCITING!!!!! *is far too excited about this for her own good* I'm so happy for you allllll! <3

YAY for you getting a laptop cord!! :D

Maybe I'll show some of them to you, GG. See what you think I would absolutely love that, darlingest!! ^_^

No, words do have color. Just like voices. It's not just you. *nod nod* In fact, the poem Thanatopsis, as hard a bugger it is to understand at first depending on your age, etc., is completely blank verse [no rhyming] and uses enjambment to create a conversational style and the feeling of a fireside chat, a la FDR....

LOL bloody Russian socks XD

Other brooding Romantics [that's Poe's genre, btw] are Nathanial Hawthorn and the dude that wrote Moby Dick.... But other POETS she might like are EMILY DICKENSON YEEEEAAAAH <3 and Robert Frost. And maybe she might like transcendentalists, like Whitman ("my heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky... XD" because I think she'd like the meter and rhyme in his ( ... )

Eeps...nu...the house isn't QUITE done yet. Putting a roof on isn't the last thing to do, actually. You kinda need a roof to protect the uber cool insulated floors from rain and stuff. And we still need to insulate, shingle, cover the walls, build interior walls and do the whole gig with those, put in plumbing and electricity, etc...

And internet. We need internetz.

Got my laptop cord today and it WON'T FREAKING CHARGE. Looks like I need to buy a new battery. Ack and alack. Ah, well. Let's see how many hoops I have to jump through for this one.

And LOL. I watch shows WITH people. If it has a semidecent plot or character development, I'll watch anything. But I rarely ever watch a show by myself. ;) I'll probably get around to watching Heroes someday, when I have my compy. As well as do a million other things I want to do. :D Hey, maybe you can help me make up a cool schedule when I get to college and be all organized. loool

Are you sure that cord is the right one for your computer???

And about shingles, until you can get them, try getting one of the blue tarps we use for roof damage after hurricanes. A lot of people who lost almost all their shingles during the storms are still using the blue tarps until they can get shingles for them. It's better than nothing!! ;)

Organized? Ha. I am NOT organized. XD Ask anyone. No, really. ^.^

Yeah, I'm sure it's the right one. And I let it charge for a whole day and it's still...nothing... : (

My phone works again, though! I told mom it would just be my luck for neither to work even after I ponied up the money for them. She said it was totally against the odds.. I was still doubtful until that hopeful red light came on.

We had a tarp up when it was only half-finished, actually. I don't think it'll be much longer until it's shingled and water-proof. Haha! *punches air*

You are a happy quiet achiever person, GG. Which is why you like teaching. Learning things means you achieve. Achieving makes you happy. And if happy achieving learners are working, it's quiet. : D Mwhahaha.

so building your own house is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever heard.

Which reminds me. MTM was writing and rewriting that poem/riddle thing Ambrose used in the Square interaction with Nicolas a million years ago,

I remember it just like yesterday :"D ok maybe not. BUT SWEET.

Yah, maybe I convince her to post it when she's done. :D

Heathrose feels like just yesterday. As does some of the first Nicolith meetings. *siiigh*

oooh lala....it feels like yesterday we were all giddy and breathless from seeing a post at a certain dance party, eh?

"Are you avoiding me?"

"Naww...of course not! : D"

"*glare*"

"Ah heh heh? *guilty look*"

Whoa, you have your house done already? It would probs take our family forever, because we're, well, Indian. We don't do hard labor. I mean, like, give me a calculator and I'll do your taxes, but manual labor? Not my thing.

BTW, what do you think of this season of One Tree Hill? I really miss old-school One Tree Hill. IMO it was wayyy better than this shit. I'm thinking of giving up on it but it's become a habit to watch it. Gossip Girl is way better, and I'm not even being biased. It's better than 90210, though.

Erms...no, the house isn't quite done yet. It just has the roof on. It's basically a shell of a house at this point, which means it's habitable if your standards are pretty low, but it's not at 'complete' yet.

Hm...I haven't seen old-school One Tree Hill. The bit with Sam's friend being involved in Brooke's attack didn't really surprise me all that much. The bit with Q was really odd to me. But I guess it had to resolve all that, didn't it? The sideplot with Payton(sp?) seems a little flat to me. There were a couple moments I really liked. But personally, I think Grey's Anatomy is doing better sofar as character development and relationship growth, IMO.

I'm a sucker for charries like Alex and Sloane who have more issues than McDonalds has customers.

Oh. Well, still. Our family would take about a year to construct even a shell of a house.

Yeah, Grey's is way better than OTH as far as character development goes, but, bb, if you like messed up characters then why don't you watch Gossip Girl? They are all pretty well-developed over there, except for Serena and Natie and Dan The Douche and Vanessa (GOD I HATE HER). It's not quite as good as Grey's as far as plot and that stuff goes, but I like it better anyway. I really think that you would like Gossip Girl if you'd just give it a proper chance.

Also, ALEX! <3

LOL...My dad is one of the 'git it done!' types. He'd go crazy. Plus, we have the added motivation of: we don't have a place to live until we build the darn thing. That tends to make eager workers. Cold, shivering eager workers, but eager workers just the same.

I actually did watch most of the first episode of Gossip Girl. I haven't found the time for anymore just yet. I only am able to keep up on Grey's and OTH because I'm watching it with mom, and she's usually four episodes ahead of me.

Me? A procrastinator? Naww....

Alex makes me smile. I'm not one to claim for hotness or anything, but his character makes me smile. : ) Because he's troubled and sweet. And he's adorable when he's trying to hide the fact that he's troubled and sweet.

"(HAHA. split-second shot of 1925 version of POTO on the screen when the little girl was flipping through channels. I totally saw it)."

Did you scream and fall over onto the couch when you saw it, too? 'Cuz that's what I did. (And I am one of those rabid Grey's fans you spoke of. NOTHING COMES BETWEEN ME AND MY GREY'S ANATOMY. NOTHING. Except, like, rehearsal and stuff. Yes.)

Glad everything's going well with the house!

LOOOL. No, I didn't scream like a fangirl, but I definitely made sure mom noticed it. With repeated exclamations of, "Did you see that? It was Phantom of the Opera! The 1925 version! The unmasking scene! Did you see it?"

Mom: "Yeah, I saw it..."

Me: *big grin* Heee...

Question: Your favorite character(s) development? I like Alex and Sloane right now, myself.

theatregeek_393 December 9 2008, 21:19:29 UTC
Alex's character is making me happy right now, and Sloan finally seems like he's getting some emotions other than what we've seen in the past. I like the developing Cristina/Owen drama--it's time she got over Burke, srsly. And I like how Mer and Christina's friendship is never 'perfect'. Yeah, they'd do anything for each other, but there's flaws in their friendship, which you don't see in some shows.

What's your opinion on Not-Dead Yet Denny?

Reply

maskednicci December 18 2008, 18:09:16 UTC
Yeah, Cristina/Owen is cute, but I think Owen has to deal with that post-traumatic stress disorder. Or he'll get violent with her all too easily. *nod nod*

Not-Dead Yet Denny? XD I think it's a dragout of drama. Mom is sick of it and thinks they're doing it to give him more screentime because he's 'good-looking'. *rolls eyes* I'm really beginning to hope she turned out to be insane and has been having serious delusions, myself. It's just creepy so far.
