Interesting viewpoint

its such an easy way of thinking, though, isn't it?
to just say, "oh, there's nothing i can do about it, its something else's problem, it's out of my hands." and they can just get on with doing the damage that makes it someone else's problem in the first place.

what's reeeeally scary is that people in positions of power have this view, too...

See, now that is what I was thinking. I think it's irresponsible to just make a statement like that since that is the way they justify their poor to abysmal behavior.

I was going to start arguing it with her, but realized the effort that I'd expend would be useless.

It surprised me that she could be so cavalier to basically state that she could take the world for granted and that it's ok that we do too.

It's scary indeed.

Funny part of it is, if she actually did some research, it's NOT something that happens every 1,000 years... I am aware of pole shifts through out time on a natural time table the earth has - why in the world would you think everything is "a-ok" to exacerbate the entire process in as quickly of a fashion as we've helped contribute?
