YO MHS KIDS, for the school paper i'm writing an article about the downtown closing, and i wanna get quotes/opinions/whatever from students to put in it. so i ask, what is your opinion 0f the recent closure of the downtown in farmingdale? any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Less annyoing crowds.
Less terrible metalcore bands.
Less good indie shows.
Less kids at actual hardcore shows.

Now we'll see who was really in it for the music and not for myspace meetings. The venue got some great shows. But the crowds were terrible 99% of the time.

Personally, I think it is very unexpected. But my friends' friends' dad did stuff for the downtown alot, and they said its because the guy that ran the downtown(who was also co-owner), was caught in possesion of drugs because he was a drug addict of some kind, and was sentenced to 90 days of mandatory rehab so the other owners sold it...to Applebee's? I mean really of all places they could have sold the downtown to they sell it to some stupid restaurant that are everywhere. They could of at least sold it to someplace decent but no, now instead of the awesome downtown,we have.......applebee's. :(

from what my friend who worked there told me: the drug thing is true, but the applebee's rumor is false.

sweet yea, you are eligible. i'm not sure if all of the children at MHS would understand what "scene kids" meant though, so would you mind if i switched your quote to something like,

"I think that it is a real big bummer that The Downtown closed because I've been going there for a long time, and seeing awesome shows. But at the same time, it might be a good thing because of all the annoying, unloyal fans and "scene kids" that were always at the shows. After a while, the crowds really started to get TERRIBLE. Not to mention standing on line hearing kids say things like, 'I don't even know why I'm here, I don't like any of these bands.' It became more of a hangout than anything. That really irked me. Like Jaycox said, now we'll see whose in it for the music."
