Thanks! I forgot to mention that the bottom layer was done entirely in ballpoint pen. Woops.

All of the 'drawn' aspect of the pic is made in pen. The linework, that is, and all the cross-hatching and such. The only thing not made in pen is the basic shading I did in photoshop.

Probably refers to inking it traditionally and then air brushing on top digitally, or something like that.

(I'm in shock, how long do those pens even last)

Yes, this. :)

The pens actually last quite some time, lol. This wasn't any artist grade pen or anything, just one of those cheap ten cent things I carry around in my purse for emergencies. They last a surprisingly long time.
