All the king's horses, all the king's men. 1/? (prologue) F!Shep/Garrus anonymous April 18 2012, 20:07:23 UTC
This prompt caught my eye, trained for angst as it is.

Original prompt:I've always found it funny that, despite the urgency of the situation, the whole Archangel saga is still playing out even if you ignore it for a while.I mean, you can go get Grunt, visit the citadel & the mercs are still at the bridge when you get back to omega ( ... )

A!A note: Just to warn people that this fic is going to get fairly mean before it gets better. If depictions of torture, and mentions/explanations of non-con bother you, I would advise not reading any further.Purgatory, Shepard had decided, needed to be renamed, the term ‘purgatory’ suggested a place you might one day escape, there was no escape from this....hellish arse-hole of the known galaxy. Gritting her teeth Shepard listened to the self appointed ‘Warden’ Kuril harp on about the galactic benefits of his facility, and the benefits to his pocket by extorting the homeworlds of his prisoners ( ... )

The afformentioned Decker had apparently moved on to a different technique, whatever it was caused the prisoner to voice a horrible wet scream that trailed off into a shrill keen of torment. “All right Decker, thats enough for today,” the helmeted guard waved the other out of the cell, “I’m not sure I can watch that again anyway,” he muttered under his breath ( ... )

oh crap oh crap oh crap... i don't - this may be too heavy for me cause it's freaking me out. poor Garrus!!!! you have done a fantastic job at this.

And on a side note, am I the only one that loved how they actually show and mention how the prison guards get violent over time? It hit my pshycology kink because I'm all 'oooooohhhhh, the brain. it's so tricky' It's also the only thing I really remember from that semester of Psych. I rest was a long blur of words that only stayed till the test.

“Garrus?” Shepard looked up as Miranda stared down at them from the doorway, “as in Garrus Vakarian, from the original Normandy?” Shepard almost can’t look at the pity and horror stamped on that perfect face ( ... )
