Minifill: Circean Poison 1/1

Kalros, mother of all Thresher Maws, wrath of Tuchanka. Kalros, living rage, animal instinct, mother nature’s savage grace. Kalros, alone no longer, for she had found a thing as vicious as she. So long since she had known pain, so long since any had dared challenge her. What a wonderful thing this was, sleek and dark. It was warm to the touch, like the baleful, beloved sun, dark like her den.
She curled tighter as it spasmed and shook, shrieked against her thick hide. Nestled far under the upper world, in the deep dark of Kalros' planet, the destroyer fought a losing battle against the wilderness. It was delicious-- it tasted of rage.
As Circe with Odysseus, she wrapped the destroyer in her love and sought to teach it to be obedient to her whim. The Reaper’s song drifted through her mind, as meaningless as the wind and worthy of equal notice.

Kal'Reegar had been shot at with missiles on Haestrom. He'd watched loyal soldiers die, and then been hit himself. A week spent hallucinating when infection set in, and nothing he could do about it, and this was still worse. Tali'Zorah...vas Normandy, up for treason, and he could honestly say he'd never felt more helpless. Didn't seem like the Admirals even cared if she was guilty or not. Kal normally stayed well clear of politics because, Keelah, life was difficult enough as it was, but...
Tali'Zorah had changed many things. For her, he could fight geth, dodge missiles, take bullets. And for her, he could handle a few politicians, as tactfully as possible. "Tali's done more for this Fleet than you assholes ever will!" And then, because he never did back down once the fight was started, he looked at his Admirals and told them to exile him too. There'd be room on the Normandy for another quarian. Life without the Flotilla, but with Tali, that couldn't be so bad

I love this. Thank you so much. No guilt at all, it's always fun to recruit people onto a new ship. Welcome to the club. We have snacks and like, four fics including yours and huzzah!
