[Fill] That Jazz (1/?)

Giving this a try! I don't usually write humor, but I loved the prompt, so I figured I'd give it a shot. There's probably gonna be a lack of smut too, but I hope that's okay with the OP.
"That Jazz"Shepard was… different after coming back from the dead, Garrus noticed. Not really in a bad way. And she was always a bit quirky, even for a human - humming under her breath during battle, twirling in the corridors of the Normandy when it was late and she didn’t think anyone was watching. But she used to keep this sort of thing pretty well hidden. Now it seemed like a floodgate had opened. A floodgate of song and very, very bad dancing

As an avid ME fan AND an active musical theater performer, this made my night. Like, BIG TIME. Brilliant :D The scene with Shepard and TIM made me want to cry laughing. I can just see her going Elphaba on him and TIM being like, "WTF?"

Hmm, if you put "just you wait, VAH-ka-RI-an", it doesn't scan very well to my ear. Perhaps "just you wait, Sir Vakar'yen"? That at least puts the em-PHA-sis on the right syl-LA-ble. :-)
It's really too bad that "Vakarian" doesn't have the same stresses as "'Enry 'Iggins"!

You know, I wrote that line not knowing it was a line from a musical! I'm not familiar with My Fair Lady (I had to Google "Just you wait Henry Higgins" to get the reference), so I hadn't intended that at all.
I intended for Shepard to speak (not sing) the line, as an actual - if joking - threat. But if you wanna headcanon it as a veiled reference to My Fair Lady, I think that works. ;)

Seriously? That's quite funny to me. I suppose not all fans of musicals have the same love of Lerner & Lowe that I do. :-)
I did like the Rocky Horror reference, BTW, (guess that answers that question haha!), and I'm glad you were able to work in a Gilbert & Sullivan duet with Mordin!

That was awesome, on numerous levels -one of them definitely being originality. That said, mid-read I suddenly had a quaint hope for singing. Samara. Singing. That husky voice of hers? Her pre-possession and elegance? I bet she could smolder with the best of them, could croon to make Jessica Rabbit go up in flames.
