A human and a turian were already kinda/sorta attracted to each other, but didn't want to act on it due to outside pressures - which thanks to Shepard and Garrus are now gone. Or maybe they just got together after the war because Shakarian made it cool.
Alternatively, Shep and/or Garrus meet the couple - or just one of the two - who can't thank them enough for making it possible.

I've always thought that there's something going on between Lieutenant Riley and Corporal Nyrek, the team from Cyone. Just throwing that out there...
