When the Arks set out from the Milky Way Galaxy, they set out to find a peaceful home. One where all could live in harmony, where human and asari and turian could live as one. They didn't find that. What they found was a galactic war between two old empires and a union of new worlds. So not only is their goal of finding a world for humanity to colonize put on hold, they will need to carve themselves a piece of the galaxy from those that are killing millions in order to take one measly planet.
