How old were you when you got your first credit card?
I was 18 years old. I got the card just before I started college, right around the time I bought my first car. I used to help establish a credit history, which I succeded in doing spectacularly, to the tune of $3000 owed to the bank.

I've been thinking about getting a credit card myself now that I have my job for the purpose of having some sort of history, but I currently have no plans to buy my own car. Cars are really, really expensive when you think about maintenance and insurance along with the price of the car.
