I went to Renfair this year for the first time in almost twenty years. Last time I was there, I was five. The guy only had one tower on his castle completed. I kept wanting to go, but I felt like it wouldn't be as exciting as it was when I was a little kid and I'd be disappointed, kind of like how you track down one of those cartoons you loved from the eighties and watch it for the first time in forever and then realize how bad it really was. But Renfair wasn't bad, it was actually even more enjoyable this time around.

And yeah, I wish I'd bought more money. I bought a poison ring (sterling silver with an onyx, I always wanted one), a beer stein and some really long stripy socks. My sisters bought horns from that guy who was making them out of polymer clay, I thought they were silly and now I really want one. I wish I'd had a job so I could have bought a cool tricorn hat or whatever, but ah well.

Are you going to be at the Highland Games in October?

We went to the Highland Games the year before last, and we talked about going this year, because nothing is sexier than brawny men in kilts throwing giant logs at each other in the heat... XD But it is a fun thing, though smaller and just as expensive.

God, I wanted one of those hats. I also wanted a small dagger. Damnation, money is fun.

The reason Tabitha was calling was because my MOTHER had taken her FASFSA form that she and my father had to sign, which Tabitha had forgotten to mail off before, and would not give it back to her. Hooray.
