Working at Pan-O-Gold is lot like being at Great Harvest except that half of the ingredients are artificial and the dough never gets touched by human hands. I'm on 3rd shift making 50-70,000 loaves a day ( Read more... )

At least you still get yummy bread baking smells. I haven't been baking bread at all lately. My sourdough starter finally died from neglect, though I think they are still maintaining it at Camphill. I got sad when I found my abandoned starter in the back of the fridge. But R is gluten-free now and I have developed a love of sourdough rice bread from Food for Life. If I toast it enough and slather it with raw butter and sea salt, it almost tastes like your sourdough, though nothing will ever be as good as that was.

Sorry I didn't get a birthday card in the mail. Are you 50 now? Happy birthday! So what are the kids up to these days? Do you get out to any musicals? I hope you are doing well.

Yep, 50. No big deal. I worked an overnight shift, then took the boys out to a bookstore for a couple of hours, then came home and had a Byerly's cake with the whole gang ( ... )

Sounds like life is pretty good for you. I'm glad. I finally sent that b-day card.
