Choir trip report and more X-country stuff.

L had a great time in New Zealand. The choir director took me aside at the airport to say not only did L not get homesick but he didn't want to leave. He wanted us to meet him there so he could go see more of the country. His favorite parts of the tour were the Antartic Center, the Koala Preserve, the ocean, and going on the luge (a cement luge

It sounds like a wonderful trip making memories. I've always admired the relationship you all have.

Just for the record, the Koalas would have been in Australia - they don't have 'em in NZ. :D

I hope the boys do go back for a visit to NZ, later - it's expensive to get there, obviously, but there are some really beautiful places to see. Also, it has a thriving WWOOFer culture (Willing Workers On Organic Farms), which basically means you get free accomadation and food etc, in return for helping out on various organic and eco-friendly farms around the country. It can be a good, cheaper way to see lots of places. There is also a lot of paid seasonal work, as well - on orchards, farms, in factories etc.

Unless, of course, you're filthy rich, in which case, just send them there as overseas university students! (seriously, international student pay three or four times the fees of locals :S)

I can see either one of them enjoying work on an organic farm. (At least the way they were when I knew them a few years ago.)
