Just for the record, the Koalas would have been in Australia - they don't have 'em in NZ. :D
I hope the boys do go back for a visit to NZ, later - it's expensive to get there, obviously, but there are some really beautiful places to see. Also, it has a thriving WWOOFer culture (Willing Workers On Organic Farms), which basically means you get free accomadation and food etc, in return for helping out on various organic and eco-friendly farms around the country. It can be a good, cheaper way to see lots of places. There is also a lot of paid seasonal work, as well - on orchards, farms, in factories etc.
Unless, of course, you're filthy rich, in which case, just send them there as overseas university students! (seriously, international student pay three or four times the fees of locals :S)
