Friday: Entirely by chance, I stumbled upon a post on tumblr, about how the ME3 Extended Cut lowered the requirements for the "best" ending. I honestly hadn't known about that before
( Read more... )
Extended cut? Is whatever was supposed to be in ME3 going to added. I knew there was a final boss taken out and such, but I always thought they had the horrid endings planned from the get go.
Oh, it's still the same horrid endings. Only now you get a few more scenes before the final Citadel part and after, and some extra bullshit explanation from the starchild.
The extra scenes are mostly about your team mates, and are very nice.
From what I've read, there was supposed to be a completely different ending (one consistent with what you learned in ME1 and 2), but after that writer left, two others took the thing into their own hands without consulting the rest of the writers, and this mess was the result.
Oh that. I thought you meant something else. The endings were still pretty crappy. The only cool thing was Krogan babies, and the Geth talking to a mask-less Quarian.
They don't go into that much detail on what each character does after the game still.
I agree, they are still not good, but at least now they don't break the entire universe for me.
The Krogan babies made me smile, but there was only a rebiuld Rannoch and lots of Quarians for me, because Destroy is The Ending for me XD
They probably kept that part more open so that we could ~imagine~ what become of them. I'm actually kind of glad they left it this, they would just have gotten it (even more) wrong.
