It is our curse and our burden, those that have scouting in the blood, as some would say it, that we are held to such high standards. I get compared to my parents and my grandparents on almost a weekly basis. Even though my grandparents have been out of active scouting for almost twenty years.
I know where you're coming from, and all we can do is our best.
The difference is that you go out of your way and help others, I doubt the guy next door does that. And if he does, you do it consciencely.

What I would say at your funeral? Probably that you are/were a life-long Scout. You said it yourself, you're a beaver leader. I really doubt "the guy next door", uses his free time each week to help and educate kids. I think there is no greater cause than helping future generations
