SO ASH VS DARKRAI TRAINER. Super quick summary because we all know he'll lose, but HOW is the question!! Skip if you don't want spoilers, tho I assume most of yall don't care if you're following this journal :|a Also some AWESOME Best Wishes news.
After beating Paul and having a very platonic bromantical goodbye scene (RIVAL 8(!!1) THE NEXT DAY BRINGS A NEW CHALLENGE--Ash vs the Legendary trainer Takuto and his Darkrai!
Takuto hasn't had to use any other Pokemon besides Darkrai the entire tournament, just sweeping everyone. AND HE CONTINUES THE TREND taking out Ash's Heracross, Gible and Torkoal.
Suck :'( BUT THEN SCEPTILE COMES INTO PLAY (his MOST BADASS GRASS TYPE) and even after Darkrai forces it to sleep with Dark Void/into a nightmare, Sceptile manages to wake itself up by hearing Ash's voice calling for it to keep fighting. Behold the power of FRIENDSHIP!!!1
GO INTO THE LIGHT SCEPTILE
And then it knocks the fuck out of Darkrai with its trademark Leaf Blade.
Not so undefeatable now!!!
But now that his uber Darkrai is defeated, surely it will be easy enough--
--NO HE HAS A GOSH DANG LATIOS. It's like the writer's went "Hmmm, there's no logical reason Ash shouldn't win the Sinnoh League :|a BEST THROW IN A MYSTERIOUS TRAINER WITH LEGENDARY POKEMON* TO BEAT HIM."
*To be fair, it's already been established that more than one Darkrai exists, and Latios/Latias live in colonies everywhere, and there are multiple other 'lesser' legendaries, so! It's not so farfetched that a talented trainer could tame a whole team of legendary Pokemon. I STILL THINK IT'S CHEAP USING THEM IN A TOURNAMENT THOUGH 8|
ANYWHO.
Latios proceeds to knock out Sceptile and then Ash's Swellow. At this point Ash is like "\o/ WELP. LET'S DO THIS PIKACHU." And THE CAP GOES BACKWARDS.
I love how Takuto and Latios are just like 'lol what'
So Ash and Pikachu are going down but THEY AIN'T GOING DOWN LIKE PUNKS. Pikachu goes and takes multiple hits from Latios, and THEN manages to get on its back and zap the fuck out of it repeatedly.
Hahahahah I love Takuto's face he's like LATIOS GET THAT DAMN RAT OFF >8|
Latios finally manages to shake it off waaaaay up in the air, and as it's falling Ash yells for it to use Volt Tackle--and it runs STRAIGHT THROUGH Latios' attack with it.
THEN SLAMS IT IN THE FACE WITH IRON TAIL.
The force of the explosion actually jams the broadcast signal aldfksldf hahaha how does that even work--
DOUBLE KNOCK OUT. You don't mess with Ash Ketchum's pikachu man. IT'LL TAKE YOU DOWN WITH HIM.
So ends Ash's Sinnoh League adventures--Takuto goes on to actually win the tournament (tho no one else besides Ash could get pass his Darkrai! HA! Gj Ash), Jun/Barry says his ADD filled goodbyes, and the twerps make their leave. Only a couple more eps of D/P left, booo.

Ash and Pikachu have finally appeared in the Best Wishes Trailers! KER-PREVIEW. Watch it!!! Aaaah the beginning is just like his very first ep when he was talking to himself adklf;s
BUT WAIT there's an Art Style change! Admittedly I'm more partial to the old eye design (basically his black slits). HIS EYES ARE HUGE. But on the other hand they are big and brown as they should be!! The animation next season seems a bit awkward, but I like it regardless! Also CHECK OUT THAT IRON TAIL ANIMATION. It actually looks like iron now 8|a!
and he has his old throwing/pokemon catching style back!! (turning his cap, close up, and then BALL THROW!!) aaaah nostalgia
His outfit is already growing on me :|a VERY BLUE but reminds me of his AG outfit, and it is a HOODIE so it is adorable.
Un-Ash related, if you missed it, Dento is going to be voiced by Mamoru Miyano.
This is basically going to be an amaaaaaaaazing season 8)
note to self: do not go crazy trying to update Ash's icons when the season is at least ten eps in fffft!
