Allen looked down to the ground and noticed light footsteps edged into the grassy floor, just slight depressions, but they were enough. Allen immediately followed them, ignoring his breath clouds in front of him and keeping his cloak on his shoulders, buttoned only two down, leaving the rest to hang open. The wind was a little stronger outside, obviously, but that didn't deter Allen.
He knew something was wrong. He intended to find out what it was.

Which Allen knew should not be left abandoned in Kanda's room. The samurai always had it. Mugen was, if one could say, like Kanda's precious treasure, the weapon that protected him, worked with him, and that made him an exorcist ( ... )

The pulsating within Allen was attempting to tell him something, but he wouldn't listen right now. It wasn't important. But there was a fear settling on him, weighing down on his shoulders with an impressive weight, trying to tell him something. Why wasn't he listening?
"Moyashi, for the last time...don't make me kill you. Leave me alone."
Allen only watched as Kanda took a few steps back. He was afraid. The young exorcist thought he'd never see the day that Kanda was showing fear. What could possibly be worse than death ( ... )

So why was he allowing it?
"Why didn't you tell someone? You could've told Komui or Lenalee, hell, maybe even Lavi! You could've told me. None of us would've sold you to the Vatican."
Somehow, that frustration from Kanda refusing to stop the painful change turned into anger at not being trusted with such information. Why couldn't Kanda just trust one of them?
Allen looked at Kanda with sudden determination veiled by his sudden frustration. "You're not leaving, Kanda."

Allen found himself glaring. Why did Kanda have to be so cold right now? Allen was offering his help! It was most certainly not pity, thank you very much. When Kanda stepped out to show himself, the full force of the change in the swordsman hit Allen and hit hard. The skin, once pale with a slight tan, was now an unearthly grey that made Allen shiver. Those dark eyes, deep with the night sky, sometimes dotted with stars of thoughts, now were melted gold pools, looking more uncaring than before. The black stigmata against Kanda's forehead stood out even as they bled. And Kanda's demeanor... it was changing rapidly. Allen could tell ( ... )

"Let go...now, Walker."
Allen stared intensely at Kanda even as the samurai struggled to free his hand again. Finally, he did loosen his grip, which was more than enough for Kanda to throw off his hold completely. Allen watched as the samurai moved swiftly in the moonlight, his loose hair swaying like a rippling river of indigo in the silvery light. And for the first time, perhaps ever, Allen thought briefly of just how beautiful the other male was. The intense blue-grey eyes that were now gold had not lost their glaring power and the hair were long threads of silk begging to be touched. The once-pale complexion, despite having greyed over, was still smooth and asking for unwanted attention ( ... )
