Hi, I never update this thing anymore. I'm sorry. I'm lazy and FB takes such little effort. Whenever I update this thing I feel like I should have something somewhat important to say

Nah, LJ is for whining and complaining or feeling smug about some random thing that happened to you that day. Doesn't have to be important.
I mean, I've been posting garbage for 9 years. You think "man I am so much better now than back then" but no, you aren't, you just have different problems to complain about.
It gives the illusion of being insightful because it's a mind dump. Like twitter takes care of the little things like "I want a sandwich for lunch," but LJ takes care of the "OH GOD WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE" moments. You look over it and think, "I did a great deal of writing, wow! I'm awesome!" even though it's "GOD DAMNIT I HATE MY MOTHER SO FUCKING MUCH HERE'S A LAUNDRY LIST WITH EVIDENCE BEHIND THE CUT."
You're welcome. I usually don't go on LJ much more either; I tend to save LJ for "emo" tweets and personal observations, and I'm trying not to be as "emo" as I can be. I probably tend to isolate and alienate others more and more as I post, and I'd like to avoid that now. I still do have steam to let off, and things to work out, but I don't know if exploding all over everybody all the time is the best solution. I've done enough damage as it is. :)
I probably wouldn't even be on Facebook anymore, to be honest, if it weren't for the RL friends and family I share an account with, and the fear I may lose contact with them if not for my account. A lot of what I see on there are things I'm not interested in, like games or politics or apps; I really want to just be sociable, but there's not as much socializing going on on there as I like. Most of my activity is on Twitter now, or occasionally on messageboards. :)
