It's not about taking away the option of safewords, it's about allowing the foundation to develop FIRST such that, when the commitment is made, safewords are no longer required.
This only applies if safewords are used to signal something about a commitment. If you use a safeword to mean "somethings wrong" like perhaps a muscle cramp or flashback, that has nothing to do with the commitment, and yet could still easily happen at any time.
I of course still think it's better to use direct communication of "cramp!" rather than an indirect safeword.
