I have a Girl Crush!

Evangeline Lilly was on Craig Ferguson last week and was absolutely adorable. She was bubbly, funny, charming, delectable and totally un-Katelike. I was completely enchanted as was Craig who turned to the audience at one point to exclaim, “I know! Me too!” So, so cute. I am a huge fan now ( Read more... )

For some reason, I am not that excited about the Oscars. Probably because I have seen none of the movies and probably won't see most of them, so I have no investment. I do like upsets, though. I always root for the upsets.

I am happy the TV is coming back, but waiting till April for most of it may hurt me. Looking forward to the Buffy class synopsis. I have been reading a bunch more Buffy fic lately in my wind-down to the return to work. Even beyond Bangel fic, which is an achievement.

Have fun at your Oscar party!

Well if you like upsets, you must have been all over Tilda. I was surprised! The party was fun, but for the first time in 10 years someone got more right than I did in the Oscar pool. Damn you Bourne, I never saw those wins coming!

I guess I was surprised -- mostly by the fact that her outfit and the no make-up were rather startling, but her acceptance speech made me laugh, so that was all of the good. She wasn't the favorite, but it wasn't like she was completely out of the running, either, I guess. J said that some folks thought Bourne should have gotten a nom for best picture, or something? So maybe those awards were their consolation prizes.

Ditto what a_h_c said. I won't be watching the Oscars this year. Maybe it's because I haven't seen any of the Best Picture noms...and have no intention to (no, not even Juno). I expect I'll be curling up with a book or catching up on sleep.

But what, pray tell, does your Oscar bash entail? I've been to a couple Oscars viewing parties over the years. Snarking with buddies about who wore what, who is with whom, and who won is a great way to pass 3+ hours.

That pretty much describes our party. Grazing at the buffet table and lots of "She wore that?" "What was he thinking?" "She won?"

It's fun to watch with a crowd and we do a ballot. For the first time in 10 years someone did bette than I did at guessing the winners. That sucked! But otherwise it was fun.
