What is the deal NBC? Cutting 5 hours of primetime real estate for a Leno talk show? Sure you had to find someplace for him to go, or risk losing $40 mil, but come on ( Read more... )

Tone down a show about sex crimes?

And you know NBC's decision will probably just exacerbate the viewership exodus to basic and/or premium cable for quality TV viewing.

I know! It's absurd. However, their only shield so far has been "We put the show on at 10 pm, all the little kiddies should be in bed." What happens when they change that to 9 and all the kiddies aren't in bed yet?

I think you are right. Now we just need them to pick up the pace in getting quality shows on the air.

It is crazy. And also means that instead of 18 hours of new programming they will only offer 13 hours. Which frankly scares me. If they do a high number of reality shows, there basically won't be anything to watch on NBC!

What happened to their year round plan, where they weren't going to be tied to the traditional season? I guess they already gave up on that!

Apparently, NBC has just completely fallen apart and is giving up. Why have Leno be every freakin' night? Maybe weekly would be better, huh? And yes, I am worried about Chuck. But NBC will stick with the cheaper, ratings-gifted reality crap and let the scripted stuff just fall away. Their executives need to be dropped. Blech.
