New book: "Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why." Even though I don't believe in God -- the whole scenario is fascinating. Of course, I am walking into this book with the aggravating knowledge that I cannot check this man's ideas out: I cannot read Greek (New Testament) or Hebrew (Old). Blast

Bart D. Ehrman. It's absolutley amazing: the way treatment of women changed, the social status of Christians, how Jews became the big Christian "enemy," how different Christians decided others were the enemy and how texts were rewritten to protect against them...awesome.
