The wonders of the human body

We were watching a Chinese drama series yesterday, about a big family of three brothers and two sisters. I remember watching something once that argued there is no hard proof that HIV causes AIDS. Strange. It's such an alien thought, when the opposite has been planted in our heads for years and years.

Still...it's what makes me (a naturally wishy-washy and somehow argumentative person) so absorbed in science. It's all trial and error. Something is true only until proven wrong...and then so only until another theory comes around.

X.x;; *looks through books* They all still say its caused by HIV though.

I'm a little disappointed about science. I think researching may very well be entirely useless. I've been forced to read a lot of scientific researches and they all conclude basically sayin: We've found this and this and this in our research. However, it may still be all coincidental, so we're not 100% sure either.

It's not accepted by the majority. You won't see it. Heck, I don't know that -I- accept it...but it's worth some thought.

That's what I don't like about the science community, actually (not science itself ;p). The people stubbornly stick to their own theories and completely dismiss those that disagree. How can we learn/discover ANYTHING with that kind of attitude, is what I want to know...

People are the main factor that ruins the objectivity of science. I guess the only reason we are learning is perhaps because there are selected individuals who are privileged to be openminded.
