Chapter 8: Aozora Pedal
By the time I finished setting everything. It was already 6:00. Jun will be here any minute.
That weird guy disappeared as quickly as he appeared. Weird guy. Anyway, I have no time to think about him. I have a party of attend. A very important party by Jun’s tone.
I brisk walked to my wardrobe, randomly picked a tux, a pair of shoes and changed. There, all done. And Jun thinks I need 4 hours to get ready.
“Kazu-chan!” came Jun’s melodious voice, “Are you ready?”
I closed the wardrobe door and dashed down the stairs.
“Ready!” I smiled.
Jun was dressed in a white tux which totally compliments his body. His hair was perfect, not a single strand out of place and his shoes were so shinny it could blind someone. In his hands was a bouquet of roses. He glided over, and handed them to me.
“You look great!” he said, tidying up my hair.
Is he the best boyfriend ever or what?
“Iet’s go then,” he said and walked towards his Porsche. I followed suit.
~*~*~*~*~*~
This is damn big. No, it’s bigger than big. Something like gigantic and humongous combined. If the Jimusho was compared to a person, everyone here would be cells. Maybe I’m exaggerating. Maybe.
“Ninomiya-kun,” I heard an unfamiliar voice call me, “I love your drama, Stand Up! It was fantastic.”
I just smiled in return, not knowing what to say as I’ve never heard about a drama called Stand Up before. (How can I not remember a drama I acted in?)
Many other unfamiliar faces also came up and expressed their delight in watching my dramas. What was I supposed to say? Sorry, I don’t remember acting in any of those dramas? That would be so weird!
I spotted Jun talking to some other guy and decided to stay close to the only person I know in this sea of unknown people.
“Kazu-chan!” exclaimed Jun when I got to him, “I would like you to meet Sho-kun, one of our colleagues!”
I turned to Jun’s companion. Somehow, I managed to snap out of my daze and shook his outstretch hand.
It was that guy from before.
“Ninomiya-san,” greeted Sho, “I’m terribly sorry about your accident. And in case you don’t remember, I’m Sakurai Sho,”
Sakurai Sho. Nice name.
Luckily, I was saved from talking to Sho as Johnny-san appeared on the stage.
“Dinner will be served soon, so please take your seats,” announced Johnny-san.
~*~*~*~
The dinner was awesome. Lobster soup with crispy yet soft bread, Oriental salad for appetiser, premium black pepper steak drowned in brown sauce with baked potato and sour cream.
I can honestly tell you that moment was so uncomfortable. I didn’t know how to hold my fork and knife the classy way, and had to peek at Jun on my right.
I ate dinner in silence, not having anyone to talk to. Jun was busying chatting with some other guy named Hideaki Takizawa, whereas Sho on my left was just stoning.
This is so awkward.
I decided to excuse myself, saying I needed to go to the washroom, and hastily walked to the nearest bathroom. Damn. Where is the nearest bathroom?
“It’s this way,” said a voice.
I turned to see Sho pointing in the opposite direction.
“Right,” I replied sheepishly, “Thanks,”
I ran off in the direction Sho pointed to, but to my surprise, I still heard the sound of footsteps behind me. I paused and turned.
It’s Sho.
I was going to ask what is the world he’s up to, but he sort of read my mind and said, “I need to use the bathroom too,”
Weird guy.
So off to the toilet we went, neither of us making a sound.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“So you know remember a thing?” Was the first thing I heard when I stepped out of the toilet. I purposely took my own sweet time so I didn’t have to go back with Sho. This just proves he’s a weird guy.
“I don’t remember a thing,” I said flatly, yet somewhat threateningly, hoping he’ll get the hint and leave me alone.
“So you don’t remember us?”
“Us? What are you talking about?! Jun is my boyfriend and I would never cheat on him!”
I walked (more of stormed) off.
Who the hell does he think he is? Trying to break Jun and I up. I do admit he’s quite good looking (this is the second time I said this), but we all know Jun’s better.
A pair of strong hand reached mine and I was pulled backwards, causing me to fall. Fall right into Sho’s arms.
“Kazu-chan, remember!” whispered Sho, hugging me tightly, “You have to remember us!”
I struggled with all my might and finally broke free. In some way, I managed to run back to the dining hall, but not before yelling. “Sho-kun, you’re weird!”
