Chapter 10: Hadashi no mirai
I’m lost. Not actually lost, just displaced. Where should I go? I can’t go home, Sho might still be there, and I do not want to destroy anymore plates. I can’t go to Aiba’s house, but the last time I checked, he seems mad at me.
So that leaves me with - okaa-chan’s house.

It wasn’t really far, that’s if I took any form of transport. But walking there was a total nightmare.
“Kazu-chan!” welcomed okaa-chan, nearly suffocating me with her hug, “Where’s that cute guy you’re cheating on Jun-kun with?”
“Me cheating on Jun?” I screamed, “I would never ever do such a thing!”
“It’s ok, kazu-chan,” smiled okaa-chan, “It’s just us here,”
I had seriously no idea who she’s talking about. Wait, please don’t say it's.....
“Did you forget about him?” asked okaa-chan, concern in her voice.
I nodded.
“It’s that guy with black hair,” she tried to describe, “The one that acted together with you in one of your dramas, his name is…..”
“Sho?”
She nodded.
This is not happening. I can’t be cheating on Jun with Sho!
“Okaa-chan, any idea why I broke up with Jun?”
“You didn’t break up,” she replied, “You said you didn’t want Jun to know,”
“Didn’t want him to know what?”
“No idea, gomen ne,”

Great, okaa-chan wasn’t able to help solve my problem. Just great. Who else can I go to. Feeling demoralised, I just walked aimlessly. Which resulted in me crashing into someone.
“Sumimasen!” we both apologised, bowing. When I straightened, I found myself looking at ……
“Aiba,”
Aiba just gave me a simple nod before jogging away, hands in his pockets and head hung low.
“Aiba! Come back!” I screamed and ran after him. I am not letting Aiba slip past me the second time.
“Go away!” Aiba yelled back, left hand holding a lamp post for support, panting like crazy.
“Aiba, I’m sorry for whatever evil thing I did to you,” I pleaded, “but I need to know what happened!”
Aiba raised his eyebrows.
“What happened?”
I told him about my accident and getting amnesia.
“I see,” replied Aiba, “What do you want to know?”
“What happened during the last 2 years,” I replied firmly.
Aiba led me to a bench nearby.
“It started from the time after we went clubbing, after you fell down those stairs. You were complaining how your life sucks and wanted a change.” Started Aiba, “You started grooming yourself, and getting your hair and teeth done. You also gave up hamburgers, claiming they are fattening.”
Aiba finished the tale, and we sat there in silence.
“I gave up hamburgers?” I asked, breaking the silence.
Aiba nodded.
“There is no bloody way I’ll give up hamburgers! They are my life support!”
I glanced at Aiba who was starting to smile.
“Nino,” he cried, pulling me into a big hug, “You’re your old self again!”
I couldn’t help returning the smile and hugged him back.

I spent nearly 5 hours learning about my love triangle (from Aiba) with Sho and Jun. This is what happened: (in chronological order)
1) Jun was filming Hana Yori Dango in New York
2) I went over to surprise him
3) I caught him with some guy named Oguri Shun
4) I started becoming emotional and irrational
5) Sho figured something was wrong, so he approached me
6) I told him everything, and that’s how we started hanging out.
7) How does Aiba know so much?
“You told me,” he replied.
He is my best friend after all.
“So what happened between us?” I asked, really wanting to know why we became hostile towards each other.
“You became very very popular, not to mention famous, and you just didn’t have the time for a commoner like me,” said Aiba.
I am such a JERK.
Aiba added in a whisper, “And you could say I was jealous,”
I couldn’t help but smile.
“Thanks, Aiba”
