Chapter 11: Kaze no mukou e

I need to clear things up, or my head would seriously explode.

I went back to Jun’s house. Luckily he was at work, or he would have killed me. I went to Jun’s study, searched around for Sho’s number (which I found in one of Jun’s phone book) and called him.

“Nino?”

“Sho, listen. I’m really sorry about throwing my bowl at you, but I need to talk to you urgently.”

“Ok. Do you want to come over?”

“Ok.”

I’m such an idiot. I had no idea where Sho lived!

Just then, my phone received a message. At least Sho remembered I forgot his address.

~*~*~*~*~*~

“What do you want to talk about?”

Sho house was nice. Book shelves filled with loads of books lined the cream white walls. Tables and chairs were neatly arranged and completely dust-free. Newspapers were stacked neatly on the well cleaned coffee table. Overall, it was spacious, yet small and cosy.

“Us.” I replied firmly.

“You finally thought about what I said?” he inquired delight coating his tone.

I nodded.

“I need to know what happened,” (How many times have I used this line?)

“During the filming of Yamada Tarou Monogatari,” Sho started, “I found you huddled in a corner of your dressing room sobbing like crazy. You started pouring out everything to me.”

Sho took a sip of his tea before continuing, “We then realised how compatible we are. After that, whenever Jun is out of town, you would come over to my place,”

“That’s it?”

He nodded.

He seemed so sure. Could I trust him? His story is somewhat backed up by Aiba’s.

Yes, Sho is telling the truth. That’s what one big piece of evidence told me.

“Is that my DS?” I asked, pointing at a shelf. That DS is the exact same colour and has the same scratches at the same places as mine.

“Yup,” replied Sho, “You left it here the last time you came,”

So Sho and Aiba are right. Then there’s only one thing left for me to do.

“Sho, any idea why I didn’t scream at Jun, and break up with him after I found out?”

“Only you can answer that,”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Only I can answer that. Very helpful, Sho. What am I supposed to do? Go to Jun and scream at him?

I found myself taking a cab to the Jimusho.

The ride better take forever or I swear I’ll kill the driver. I haven’t even planned on what to say to Jun when I see him.

MATSUMOTO JUN, HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OGURI SHUN??

No, that didn’t sound right.

Jun-pon, you love me the most in this entire world, right?

Yuck. Too mushy….

“That would be 1850 yen”

I snapped out of my daze and handed him the fare.

What did I say about the ride taking forever? Mr taxi driver, you are so going to get it from me.

~*~*~*~*~*~

I hurried along the lobby area towards the lift, completing ignoring the stares people around were giving me.

When I got to Jun’s dressing room, I told myself to slam the door open and make a really cool entrance, but when my hand was just millimetres away from the knob, they froze.

Was that giggling I heard?

I followed plan A and slammed the door open. Only to nearly give myself a heart attack when I saw Oguri Shun in Jun’s lap. MY  Jun’s lap.

“Kazu…” mumbled Jun in shock, “This isn’t what it looks like!”

“Jun-pon,” whined Shun, “Now that the dwarf has found out, we don’t have to keep our relationship a secret anymore,”

“DWARF??”

That’s it. Nobody calls me a dwarf!

I stormed up to Shun, punched him (that felt good) and stormed out.

“Kazu!” I heard Jun’s footsteps behind me, “Kazu-chan, it’s not what it looks like!”

“We’re over, Jun,” I said. My eyes just had to pick this time to start tearing.

“Look, I like you more than…”

“I said we’re over!” I snapped, and walked off in the direction of the lifts.

“Then why did you not confront me that time in New York?”

I froze. I turned.

“You knew?” I asked in a whisper.

“Yeah, there was a mirror in the room,” informed Jun.

I guessed Jun thought my silence was my way of showing I forgave him as he came over and tilted my chin upwards with 2 of his fingers so that we were looking eye-to-eye. Well, he is SO wrong.

“Do you want to know why you didn’t confront me that day?” asked Jun,

“Because I know you couldn’t bear to let me go,” said Jun, answering his own question.

“It looks like you don’t know me as well as you think you do,” I replied coldly while giving him what he deserves - a slap across the face.

“and I’m not going to make the same mistake twice,”

~*~*~*~*~*

I found myself sitting in the taxi again. This time, I felt so good for some unknown reason. Somehow, I just felt free.

I guess Jun never did like for who I am. I don’t think my true self and Jun would have gelled. But, I can’t believe I gave my hamburgers, yes, my precious hamburgers up for a life of luxury in some dumb fancy house and a job as an idol. Hamburgers are worth much more than that!

Anyway, I don’t have much time to think about what I did, for I found myself at Sho’s house.

~*~*~*~*~*~

“So how did it go?” asked Sho.

I never realised how Sho was always so seems so concerned about my well-being. Maybe that’s why I decided to pour out everything to him. That’s what I did, trusted him with my life under Jun’s advice.

“Great,” I grinned.

Sho returned my grin and sat down beside me on the sofa.

“Do you know what we normally do when Jun is out of town?”

“Remind me,”

THE END
