Chapter 10:

Nino was walking.

More specifically, he was walking extremely fast. The rain had stopped some time ago, which Nino was thankful for. Chasing after Jun, Nino hastily closed his umbrella.

“Let’s go here,” said Nino, running towards Jun, “The fourth floor, they have a famous dessert set that is the cheapest and the most delicious in Ebisu,”

“Is it even open?” replied Jun, who seems to be in a better mood, now that his clothes were somewhat dry, “anyway this building looks strange and dirty,”

“Don’t complain,” said Nino, pulling Jun inside the building, towards the elevators.

Once in, Jun rested against the walls and asked, “Are the cakes really that good?”

Deciding to let Jun decide for himself, Nino slid in after Jun, the doors barely missed squashing him and pressed the number four button. After a few minutes in the elevator, the screen displayed the number four, which came along with a rather loud beep sound. Nino pressed the open button, thinking the ancient lifts did not open on their own.

Nothing.

“What?! It’s not working?”

“You broke it didn’t you?”

“I only pressed the button!”

Jun’s reply was interrupted when the whole lift convulsed.

“You’re kidding right?” muttered Jun, staring up at the ceiling, while Nino pressed the emergency button until his fingers turned red while screaming ‘help’.

“Let’s try to call for help,” said Jun, both of them whipping out their phones and flipping it open.

Nino didn’t know whether to scream at or murder the ‘no signal’ that was grinning up at him,

“No luck,”

“Same here,”

His shoes needed polishing; there was a microscopic hole in the sleeve of his jacket; the seats were an interesting shade of purple; the interior design is quite unique…

“So many fascinating things to notice,” sighed Sho as he looked up at the arrival screen. Sho could say he was a patient person, but why does he feel so uptight while waiting? The plane had landed half and hour ago, and he should be out by now.

Standing up to stretch his legs, Sho glanced towards the gates and saw: soft honey-coloured hair which seems rather cute in an untidy sort of way; sparkling eyes half covered by eye-lids, making them look quite sleepy-looking; a white shirt covered with random blobs of paint.

“Satoshi….”

The brown haired man gave Sho a sleepy grin, and dragged his luggage, no doubt filled with art supplies then clothes, towards Sho.

“Tadaima!”

“Satoshi!”

“I’ve haven’t seen you in a while, but you’re grown up so handsomely,”

“I’ve been wanting to see you,”

Sho’s friend walked off towards the direction of the carpark, not hearing Sho’s last sentence, leaving Sho standing alone, disappointed.

“At this rate, we’ll have to escape through the ceiling,” said Jun, once he was done kicking the un-obliging doors.

“EH?”

Ignoring Nino’s protests, Jun got under Nino and lifted him up. Meanwhile, Nino, who did not like being manhandled, was struggling like mad.

“Put me down!” yelled Nino, now attempting to kick Jun despite his awkward position.

“Stop struggling!” replied Jun as he considered if he should tip-toe so Nino could reach the top, “curse this stupid high lift,”

“I said put me down!” screamed Nino.

As Jun tried to remain calm under such a pressured situation, he totally did not notice his and Nino’s bag which were on the floor. Hence, Jun tripped over the bags, and fell flat on the floor.

With Nino right on top of him.

“Ouch….” Whined the both of them at the same time.

Jun shoved Nino off him and sat up abruptly.

“Ninomiya….”

“What?”

Jun didn’t reply. Instead, he pushed himself towards Nino, a lusty expressions all over his face.

“If you try anything fishy, I won’t forgive you!” yelled Nino as he fumbled with the zipper of his jacket.

“I…..” stumbled Jun, as he continued moving closer. All of a sudden, Jun’s arms collapsed underneath him, causing him to land on…oh, a certain someone named Nino.

Nino did not expect the sudden ‘attack’ and instinctively pushed Jun off him. He was about to give Jun a piece of his mind when he saw the other tossing and turning on the floor, gulping for air like a fish out of water.

Without hesitating, he placed his hand on Jun’s forehead, yelping when his cool hand come into contact with Jun’s burning skin. Reaching out for his bag, Nino pulled out a familiar blue box and tore it open.

“Open your mouth,” commanded Nino as he tenderly propped up Jun’s head onto his lap.

“Why?”

“It’s just medicine,” replied Nino, now searching for his water bottle.

“If it wasn’t prescribed by my doctor…”

“Shut up and do as you’re told!” snapped Nino, dropping two white tablets into Jun’s mouth, followed by some water.

“I’m sure someone will come for us in the morning,” assured Nino and he took off his jacket and delicately covering Jun with it.

“Aren’t you cold?”

“Trust me, I’m used to it,”
