Chapter 17:
It would be a miracle to find Nino back at the Kanjani8 office after his previous experience. Apparently miracles do happen.
“Who’s the best PI agency?!” yelled Yokoyama, throwing his hands in the air while doing a retarded boogie, like the one Honma did in ‘The Quiz Show’.
“Kanjani8!” answered the rest of the office and Aiba, doing the Koi no ABO dance.
Somehow, someone managed to turn on the disco lights and blast some song, for the office turned pitch black, save for yellow, pink and blue spotlights going of from all corners of the room and random abstracts of songs thundering from speakers. Nino watched the whole scene from the corner where the sofa was. His jaw would have hit the floor at their stupidity, if only it could stretch that long.
Once they were done worshipping themselves, Yokoyama and Aiba came over to where Nino was. The lights had gone back to normal and the music ceased.
“Subaru and Maru managed to find out some stuff,” said Yokoyama, repeating what he had said earlier on the phone, “There was this guy who so happened to witness two people exiting your house that night. But we have a problem. That guy isn’t willing to talk,”
Nino slowly absorbed the information, swallowing nervously as he did so, waiting for Yokoyama to continue. After a dramatic pause, Yokoyama pushed up his glasses and said, “But he did gave us a description of one of the guy he saw, and sketch us a portrait,”
Yokoyama pulled out a sheet of paper from a manila envelope and slid it across the coffee table, where Nino and Aiba were. Nino picked it up and starred down at it. Sadly, the person on it looks completely unfamiliar. It was a young man, late twenties or early thirties, nice soft features and a head of short curly hair.
“No clue,” sighed Nino, handing the paper back to Yokoyama. Yokoyama smiled mischievously, “But we know who it is…..”
Nino gulped visibly, not sure if he wanted to know or not.
“It’s……,” whispered Yokoyama softly, as though he was passing out some secret information, “Matsumoto Tsukasa…”
Awkward silence.
“Who the hell is that?” asked Nino, annoyed at the anti-climax.
“Ryo is doing a check on him,” said Yokoyama, “as usual, we’ll inform you when we get any news. As for the other guy, Subaru and Maru will be doing their best,”

Jun sighed.
And sighed.
And sighed once again.
Maybe Nino doesn’t like the DoS-type.
Reaching for a piece of scrap paper on the coffee table, Jun pushed his hair out of his face. He was really annoyed at the fact that he could send thousands of girls screaming with one wink, but not one Ninomiya Kazunari to fall for him after all that effort he had put in.
Logic is so logical after all.
