“Nino, I’m home!” Jun whispered as he closed the front door.
He spotted a rolled up newspaper by the door, and was wondering why it was there when he realized he had left it there this morning before he went for work. He didn’t need to look at the front page to know the latest news - everybody was talking about it.
“Nino, today’s PV filming was really fun,” Jun continued, carelessly dumping his bag onto the sofa, before heading to the kitchen, “I got to drench Aiba with a hose,”
“Sorry I’m home really late, those stupid reporters refused to leave us alone,” said Jun, spreading strawberry jam on a slice of bread. Jun let out a bitter laugh as he remembered being swarmed by a whole group of reporters, all of them wanting to know why AMOS never went on tour for two whole years.
He stuffed the whole slice into his mouth, very unglamorous for someone with class like Jun, but he didn’t care. Once his stomach was satisfied, Jun went to his bedroom.
“It’s not like we don’t want to go on another tour,” explained Jun, glancing at his bed while opening his cupboard to retrieve a set of clothes to change into, “I feel really bad for pulling the rest of them back…I told them to go on a tour without me…”
Jun stripped himself of his current clothes, and threw the new ones on, “But they refused,”
He clambered onto the bed and slid under the sheets, “They know I can’t leave you behind like this,”
One of Jun’s hands went around the lifeless body on his bed, while the other went around his head, pulling the still figure closer to him. Jun stared at its sleeping face and could not help but place light kisses all over the pale white skin.
“So please wake up,” pleaded Jun, burying his head into the soft black hair, “Nino, wake up,”
Jun tried not to tear as he waited for a response. None. He had waited two whole years but Nino was still fast asleep. He didn’t want to think of Nino as being in a coma, but rather asleep, as Jun know that Nino will wake up one day. This is the 723rd day he had begged Nino to arise from his long slumber, but Nino declined again and again.
He was on the verge of despair, seeing that Nino’s body still remained limp. Gently stroking the soft, boney cheeks, he glanced at the IV drip inserted into Nino’s stick-thin arm. He noticed that Nino’s been getting skinner and skinner ever since he was on the drip, but what can you expect? Nino’s been fed glucose for two whole years! Jun wouldn’t even be surprised if he became so thin, Jun could see right though him.
Jun pulled the blankets over the two of them, as he tenderly shifted Nino’s head so that it was resting against his shoulder. He started to drift off the sleep, hoping that he’ll find Nino wide awake the next day. Jun knew it was stupid, he had been hoping for the same thing for 723days already!
As Jun finally dozed off, he started dreaming about him having a date with Nino at Disneyland, and he totally missed a hand shifting to his waist.
