His mind was blank because of the tiredness and feeling like all the life in his body had been sucked out to leave him empty, but although that he could not find the peace to fall asleep. He pressed his body closer to the wall and tried to shut out the rumblings and talking from a group of men chatting happily on the other side of the room. It didn’t feel safe to fall asleep in a room where dozens of other people sat, ready to come at him any moment. Hyukjae’s body shivered slightly underneath the thin blanket he had received and curled up his lower body closer to his chest even though it still hurt. A loud barking laugh echoed through the room, which didn’t respect the ones who tried to sleep, and made Hyukjae wince in surprise. His body was tense and eyelids pressed tightly together, as if not seeing anything would make the world he didn’t want to be in, disappear.
Even when the voices had died out hours ago, and the only sound that could be heard was light snoring and the rumbling from the central heating, sleep wouldn’t come to Hyukjae. Paranoia had struck him and the thoughts telling him that anyone could do anything to him any minute, so he had to stay awake so he could run away. There was at least twenty other’s in there and there was no way he could struggle them all if he couldn’t even fight one person. So running would be the best option.
Another hour passed, and another - Hyukjae observing how the light slowly started to shine through the curtains as the morning came. He didn’t care what time it was, because now that the sun was once again up, he wanted to leave as soon as possible. Showering wasn’t an option, even though he felt like he really needed one, he didn’t want to because after all this was a public bath. There was no way he would ever flash his body to anyone ever again.
He sat up from the curled position he had been in for the whole night and felt the dizziness hitting him. He only waited for a couple of seconds for it to subside enough for making him able to stand. When packing his stuff up he noticed some of the other men starting to wake up as well, and he finished his packing in a kick. His feet wobbled clumsily across the floor for the exit as he tried not to walk too close to anyone. The blanket was returner and he paid the girl by the reception and made his leave quickly.
After coming out of the bathhouse Hyukjae only collapsed at a bench 50 meters away - the pain in his body, and especially his foot screaming at him and the dizziness from a sleepless night haunting him - he took a deep breath and buried his face in his shaking palms. The memories of being mistreated by his dad still flooded around his head, as if they had been burned into his brain. He could see his father’s face through his closed eyes. The scent of heavy cologne and sweat filled him up, pants from being out of breath and then a hand slipping down and putting pressure on his shoulder. He shivered at the thought until he heard a voice and realized that the smell, the pants and the hand was actually there with him.
Hyukjae’s eyes sparred open and was looking into the face of a big foreign man who was saying something he couldn’t understand and pointed back towards the bathhouse.
The man looked scary, and almost angry, and it made Hyukjae panic.
The man continued talking in a way he didn’t understand, and then pulled up Hyukjae from the bench by his arm. This is not happening, this can’t be happening! Not again!
Hyukjae tried to pull his arm back but the hold was too strong for him to get away from. The screaming about letting him go didn’t seem to reach the foreigner’s ears as he was pulled even further away. Tears flooding down as he pleaded to be released.
This was it. He was doomed to be punished in this life.
What made him even more scared was when a second hand found a grip on his free arm, but it didn’t help the foreigner to pull him with the man, but instead in held back and tried to drag him back the opposite way. The large man obviously noticed the way Hyukjae had stopped when being pulled between two, and had turned and tried speaking again. Even Hyukjae had turned his tear-stained face to his left and widened his eyes as he saw Donghae - for the third day in a row.
The brunette looked with sharp eyes at the large foreigner who continued talk sharply and tugging at Hyukjae’s hand. Donghae snapped the hand away and pulled Hyukjae into his embrace. The boy was too shocked to understand what happened or react.
“The heck, stop bothering him and just leave!” Donghae nearly shouted at the other man who had given up on talking and flailing his arms. Donghae had just been driving past the bathhouse - purposely, because he couldn’t get Hyukjae’s expressively sad eyes from yesterday out of his mind and worried too much, but that, he wouldn’t say to anyone - and had noticed the scene of that small fragile boy being dragged away against his will.
The foreigner just hung his shoulders and walked back into the bathhouse, and by then Hyukjae’s mind slowly started working again. He felt the warm arms wrapped around his body possessively which made him react.
“P-pl-please don’t! I don’t want it! It still h-hurts.”
Donghae couldn’t understand what the blonde was talking about at all, but he loosened his arms when remembering how Hyukjae didn’t like the contact.
“Hey, it’s just me again. You remember me right? Lee Donghae.” The brunette tried to make Hyukjae calm down bit by bit and at last the latter managed to look him in the eyes. “It’s okay for me to help you, right?”
Hyukjae didn’t respond and just continued look at him, until he managed to shake his head weakly and mumbling,
“Stalker…”
Donghae almost found it a bit amusing that Hyukjae continued calling him that, and he had acted a little bit as one as he drove here, but he forgot about it as he could see how all the energy was drained out of the boy and stumbled a bit forward as if he was about to faint.
The brunette didn’t care too much this time if the boy would scream at him when once more wrapping his arm around the boys waist for support, but a second later the boy was already unconscious.
*
The girl by the reception gave the foreign man a questioning look as he responded with a shake of his head before walking back to the showers. She sighed and lowered the hand with the previous boy’s wallet, and took a fast peek into it. She couldn’t find anything but some money in it - not even and ID, and then put it aside for now. Hopefully the boy would realize it’s gone and come back, otherwise she would have to leave it to the police.
*
Hyukjae woke up in a foreign bed. It was warm he was sweating a lot that his bangs stuck to his forehead. He recognized neither the bed nor the room he was in. He had to think back for a couple of minutes before assuming Donghae must be the one bringing him here, since the man was the last one he saw before everything blacked out. Hyukjae sunk further back under the sheets and inhaled the scent of it. He couldn’t help but think it smelled quite nice.
He rubbed his left arm and noticed first then that he was without a shirt, and in panic he felt for his legs that he found naked. The blonde quickly scrambled to his legs out of the bed but fell onto the floor. His legs were shaking too hard for him to even be able to stand and the fall made his knees hurt a lot. His whole body slowly started to shiver as all the memories were flashing through his head in a second. To find himself almost fully naked in a strangers bed did not feel like a normal matter. The pain in his stomach started to come back and once again he was coughing wildly, combined with spitting out small drops of blood on the floor.
The door flung open and Donghae stormed in after hearing noises from the bedroom, to find the boy lying on the floor clenching his stomach. He hurried forward to Hyukjae’s side to help him but the boy crawled backwards away from the man while still being out of breath. Donghae was startled but then he just reached out his hand to Hyukjae to show that he only wanted to help. Hyukjae only flinched as he had raised his hand.
“Eunhyuk-ah” Donghae spoke with a soft voice and looked at the terrified child on the floor. “I just want to help you. Eunhyuk-ah, you’ll catch a cold if you’re sitting on the floor like this. It’s too cold like that. Just give me your hand and I’ll help you.” He raised his hand for a second time and Hyukjae still didn’t grab on to it. The man sighed inwardly and let his hand fall back to his side. ‘What to do?’
He had noticed the blood stains beneath the bed and it hurt to know that this boy was in pain. Then Donghae stood up next to the blonde male who followed the man with his eyes. Without a warning he picked up the boy in his arms and carried him over to the bed. Hyukjae wriggled a little in his hold and cried over and over - pleading him to stop, but he never pushed the man away which Donghae totally had expected. Donghae put him down gently on the bed and he quickly hid underneath the covers. Still sobbing and pressing the sheets to his nose and inhale the nice scent once more and he found himself calming down slowly. He felt the bed dip down behind his back when Donghae sat on the edge and looking down at the lump under the covers. “Are you okay?” He asked and stroke to boy’s back comforting. He saw a movement of the head and took it as a ‘No’. He sat quiet for a minute, still stroking Hyukjae’s back, until he could hear all the sobs dying out. “I’ve cooked a meal for you, so when you feel better, come out and eat some.” Donghae stood up carefully and walked towards the door, but paused as he opened it half-way. “I also washed your clothes, so they’re lying on the chair right over here. I’m sorry, I didn’t want to undress you while you still were sleeping but they really needed a wash.”
The door closed and Hyukjae finally let out his breath in relief, peeking out from underneath the covers at his neatly folded clothes, placed right where Donghae had told him.
He waited an hour, and then two hours, before getting up and getting dressed, trying his best to stand properly on his legs. He didn’t know if he should go out of the room or not. Earlier he thought Donghae had done something to him while he was out, but he only wanted to wash the clothes. But he still wasn’t sure to approach the man directly - after all, they just met the other day.
Taking all the courage he had left, he turned the doorknob and the door opened with a soft ‘click’. He limped, because his ankle still hurt like a bitch. He came out into a small hallway, and to his right there was an open space were the living room and kitchen was. The house wasn’t big at all, but it felt extremely cozy. The windows were big and let in a lot of light from the sun.
“Oh, you got up”
Hyukjae jumped in surprise when Donghae had emerged from a door from behind, which he assumed was the bathroom. The blonde took a few steps back when Donghae walked past him with a smile, and over to the stove. He took out two bowls, one he filled with rice and the other with some sort of stew. Hyukjae felt his stomach grumble as Donghae placed the two bowls on the dining table and gestured to him to come and sit.
He sent a suspicious glance towards Donghae who had even pulled out the chair for him to sit. The grumble from his stomach could be heard very clear and he knew he really needed to eat something to keep some strength. For now, just for a while before he decides what to do, Hyukjae agreed with himself to trust this man.
Staggering, he made his way to the chair and began to eat the rice - with one piece of rice at a go. The brunette frowned at Hyukjae’s troubled expression while eating.
“Does it taste bad?” Donghae asked, and feeling bad for not being the best cook. Hyukjae shook his head slightly but put away the chopsticks.
“No…” he answered hoarsely, and Donghae was happy he finally spoke. “It tastes very good. I’ve just…got a bad memory.” Still, flashing pictures from his memory would be painted before his eyes.
Hyukjae wanted to throw up every time, but he had no choice but to eat, or else he would starve. He perfectly knew what kind of moist grime that existed on top of his rice - every day. Since that man always offered to bring the food to him, he could always “spice” the food with what he wanted. The first times he ate it he really did throw up but he learned not to, because he would only get punished.
“If you don’t want the rice, then just eat the stew. You have to eat something. You haven’t eaten since the day before yesterday, right?” Hyukjae widened his eyes slightly in surprise at Donghae’s statement. The man continued to answer the boys questioning gaze.
“You’ve been sleeping for almost twenty four hours straight after you passed out. So right now, you really need some energy.” Donghae’s smile widened and Hyukjae couldn’t understand what the other was so happy about, but he did as he was told and picked up a spoon of the stew and found it tasting heavenly good. Soon he actually took a large amount of rice and put it to his mouth, and a little more of the stew. But then again, he stopped eating.
“You’re full already?” Donghae stared shocked as the blonde nodded and clenched his hurting stomach. The older man took both bowls and laid them among the dishes. “Stay there for a moment” he told Hyukjae as the latter was on his way up, but then sat back down with a small groan. Donghae came out from the bathroom with a bandage in his hand.
“I saw you’re still limping, so it’s best if we put some support for it.” He crouched in front of Hyukjae who just stared at the man. He gently pulled off his socket and examined the foot from toe to ankle. “It’s a bit swollen, but it’ll be alright.” Hyukjae felt it was kind of nice having Donghae’s warm hands around his cold foot. He looked at the man’s concentrated face and found it that Donghae actually looked incredibly handsome.
When the foot had been neatly wrapped up by bandage, he smiled satisfied and gave the boy a light pat on his knee. Hyukjae flinched at his touch and Donghae pulled his hand back quickly. “Sorry! Did you hurt your knee too?”
Hyukjae shook his head and scooted away from Donghae with the chair. The man frowned slightly but stood up and let Hyukjae be for a little while, thinking he should rest for a while after have being in a bad condition. The blonde looked around the house one more time, noting there wasn’t much to see. Just an average single man’s apartment, nothing more. Donghae came back after twenty minutes - dressed in new fresh clothes and with damp hair. “Sorry for taking so long” he apologized when sitting down on the chair opposite to Hyukjae and combed his hair with his fingers.
“Then, Eunhyuk-ah, what have you planned on doing here in Mokpo? You said you didn’t have any relatives here and I doubt you’re up for a vacation. Weren’t you at the airport in Seoul earlier? You’re running away from home maybe?” Donghae tried to get eye contact with the lad but he didn’t get it.
“Look,” he took a deep breath and swept some wet strands out of his face. “I don’t want you to wander the streets here, and especially not when you’re not in a healthy condition. If financial problem is the reason you won’t go to the hospital, I can help you with it.” The brunettes voice was calm all the while he was talking and it made Hyukjae feel calm too, and also sleepy. He just shook his head slightly once again and tried to hide his yawn. Donghae smiled a little before standing up and pushing the chair back to the table.
“We'll talk about that later. Let’s get you to bed again” he said softly and supported Hyukjae back to the bedroom without any complaining. Hyukjae felt that the man had a personality soft as an angel’s and felt safe with him, and not scared of his touches. Or maybe it was just because he was really tired to even feel intimidated of him.
*
When greeted by darkness, the boy knew he was up for it again. He felt his hands were tied behind his back against his wardrobe door - stark naked. It was cold because of the air conditioner slightly above his head blew cold air at his sensitive skin. Soft silky material rubbed against his eye lids, covering them to not see anything. He had a bad feeling about this. The sky was rumbling and soon a crash from the lighting echoed and a flash of light searched its way through the dark eye folder.
A sharp whipping sound made the boy flinch. His legs turned wobbly and shook slightly. ‘Please not the whip, not the whip!’ Hyukjae pleaded in his mind when a stinging whip cut his shoulder. A low chuckle was heard over the thunders and another whip was slung towards Hyukjae, this time hitting his thigh. He hissed and his tears made the eye-folder damp.
It turned quiet for a long while of minutes and the boy thought he had left and he let out a sigh. But suddenly a whip came to his member between his legs and he screamed at the pain going through his lower region. Hyukjae tried to desperately come out of his cuffed hands. Soon the string of the whip encircled it and tightened its hold, making Hyukjae groan in pain and causing the eye-fold to become even wetter with tears. "I-it hurts! Please! D-dad..." Hyukjae pleaded, and he guessed he must have surprised the man since the whip slipped off his member. He was quite stunned himself that he actually had called him 'Dad' once again, something that he hadn't done since his mother died.
The blindfold was removed from Hyukjae's face and he could manage to see his father's face even though it was dark in room. The man looked at him with an expression in his eyes he hadn't seen for so long. A half-smile lingered on Mr. Lee's lips as he looked at his son.
Hyukjae parted his lips one more time, feeling hope bubbling up in his stomach. "Dad-ugh! Uuhgh..."
The man kept the same smile on his lips. Then it widened as he twisted the knife that was piercing through Hyukjae's skin and flesh- reaching the guts. The blond mewled as he sunk down to the floor, feeling how all of his life power flooding out from his wound. His eyes searched for his father's face but saw only a back turned to him and walked away.
The smile told him that his father loved him more than anything in the world - but the knife proved that he wasn’t worth anything more than an ant that could easily be crushed after playing with it.
Hyukjae woke up and felt two hands on each of his shoulders that shook him carefully. He sat himself and scooted away from the intruder.
“Eunhyuk-ah, are you alright? It sounded like you had a nightmare.” Hyukjae could see the familiar angel face of Donghae in the dim light. His tears were streaming down his cheeks as he looked at the brunette and made sure he wouldn’t get too close.
'A smile can easily deceive the victim before striking down.'
Hyukjae scooted himself backwards so he would have a longer distance from Donghae. "I'm sorry..." he whispered pleadingly towards the brunette who frowned.”I won't s-say it again, so plea-ease don't- I'm sorry."
“Hey,” Donghae said softly and crawled on to the bed and sat next to Hyukjae who couldn't move anymore. “Don’t cry, okay? It was just a bad dream. It wasn’t real.” Donghae started stroking his hair. The action felt familiar. It was just what his mom always did when he cried to make him calm down, and it worked.
“Do you want anything to drink?”
Hyukjae nodded vigorously, feeling less frightened and Donghae smiled as he found the boy look like a little child. He rose from the bed and Hyukjae had a tight grip to his arm. “Don’t leave me alone…” he said with a sad voice. “I’m scared.” Donghae just held onto the other’s hand and dragged him carefully out of bed, but Hyukjae barely managed to stand on his legs and climbed to Donghae’s arm.
“You okay?” he asked a bit worried and looked down at Hyukjae. “Can you walk for yourself?” Hyukjae tried to take another step but his leg failed him as he sunk towards the floor. The older one crouched down in front of Hyukjae and motioned him to get up on his back. “I’ll just carry you out, okay?” He smiled brightly and Hyukjae climbed up onto Donghae’s back without any hesitation. The brunette stood up and walked out of the bed room, amazed at how light the boy actually was and felt Hyukjae’s hip bones slightly poking into his back. He walked towards the fridge, Hyukjae had his arms secured around his neck, and they both peeked into the almost empty fridge.
“Uhm, I haven’t shopped for some days. Do you want milk?” Donghae asked and balanced Hyukjae on his back while picking up a package of milk when the blonde pointed at a small pink bottle.
“Oh, that. It’s my brother who bought that, but he never finished it. You want to have it?” Hyukjae just nodded and received it after Donghae took it out. “It looks pretty.” He said cutely, and Donghae walked towards the sofa and put the boy down carefully.
He watched how the blonde stuck his straw into the bottle and started drinking the beverage, a hint of smile creeping to his face. Donghae was glad that the other was calm again and that he smiled as he drank his milk. “Do you like it?” The brunette asked and Hyukjae smiled ever so wide that he was kind of shocked. His gums were showing and small wrinkles were created in the corner of his eyes as he did.
“It tastes really good!” He exclaimed and pouted when he slurped down the last content of the strawberry milk. He turned to Donghae and held out the empty bottle and looked at the man with puppy eyes. “Don't you have any more of it?” Donghae smiled apologetically and took the bottle from Hyukjae.
“I’m sorry, but that was the only one I had. I’ll buy you some later, okay?” The blonde smiled once again and Donghae found himself smiling too. “Then, are you feeling better now?”
Hyukjae let his eyes meet Donghae’s for a split second and then he realized he’d let his guard down too much. He shouldn’t let the man come so close to him. He nodded once as he answered the question.
“Yes… Thank you Donghae-sshi.”
Donghae ruffled the blonde’s hair affectionately, but he jerked his head back which didn’t go unnoticed to Donghae either. “Well, you still haven’t answered what you’re going to do henceforth.”
“I will stop troubling you in the morning.”
Donghae saw the uncomfortable expression of the blonde.
“If you need a place to stay at, you’re welcome here as long as you need.”
Hyukjae shifted on his spot and thought for a while. What had he actually thought when he came here? He wasn’t sure if he should stay in Mokpo or if he had to move around so he wouldn’t be found. Would it hurt to trust a person he doesn’t know? -Yes, Lee Hyuk Jae. He could hurt you; he can be just as deceiving as your father was, pretending to be nice. You’re too weak to protect yourself from anyone. But there isn’t anywhere else to go. Hyukjae scowled at his inner self’s arguing. There would be more people outside that could hurt me than this one in here. If I stay here, I could at least be on my guard. Then he glanced at Donghae whose eyes were filled with hope and sparkles. He got a little lost in those eyes until Donghae called his name to gain back attention.
"I would appreciate if I could stay for a little while. Maybe a couple of days, Donghae-sshi." The words came out of his mouth before he even had planned them thoroughly. Donghae looked a little disappointed at first but then he smiled. Hyukjae thought Donghae looked somehow pretty childish, but it also made him look reliable. He somehow got a little curious with the man. He thought he hated all the grownups now, but Donghae started to prove him wrong.
"Well then, what to do now? You've been sleeping a lot so I assume you don't want to sleep anymore? How about a movie?" Donghae got up from the sofa, feeling a little bit excited- and picked out a DVD from a shelf and started mixing with the television. Soon the movie started and he pulled his legs to his chest. "It's Titanic, one of my favorites actually." Donghae explained to him as he got a blanket and put it over Hyukjae’s slightly shivering body. The boy snuggled into the blanket and pulled it up to his nose, to receive the comforting warmth. Donghae settled himself to Hyukjae’s left, and the latter moved further away. He couldn’t really concentrate on the movie, because all the while he was on alert if Donghae suddenly would make a 180 degree turn in his personality and attack him. The boy continued sending glances at the elder’s way, but he was too absorbed by the movie to spare anything in his surroundings a look. Hyukjae relaxed some of his body and turned to actually look at the film.
Half-way through the movie Donghae heard deep breaths coming from next to him and that was the cue that Hyukjae had fallen asleep. His head was croakily bent backwards at the backrest and his legs tangled into the blanket. A frown was also visible on his forehead. Donghae wondered if the boy was having another bad dream. He carefully lifted the crumpled body and carried him into the bed room again, and laid him on the king sized bed and tucking him in. The man let one of the lamps stay lit so it wouldn't be complete dark if Hyukjae would wake up again. He took one of the spare blankets on the bed and sneaked out, leaving the door ajar, and then laid himself on the sofa with the blanket pulled up to his chin. He didn't think much about what had happened that day because he was exhausted from everything. Having Eunhyuk there wasn't anything he had expected. Thinking he should take his day off tomorrow to rest some more and maybe help Eunhyuk with...things? Well, we'll see what'll happen next. Slowly he entered sleep and was finally able to realx.
*
Donghae woke up early next morning and called in to his boss to request the day off. "Hey hyung. I wonder if I could stay at home today. Some things have turned up and…yeah."
"Did something bad happened Donghae?" The man on the line asked a little worried.
"No, it's not like that hyung."
"Donghae, I told you to stop calling me hyung. Just say Jongwoon, okay? Jongwoon."
"Yeah, yeah. Well Jongwoon," Donghae emphasized the name as he said it. "Will it be alright? Do you have anyone to fill me in?"
"No one is as good as you, but I don't think it'll be much of a challenge today so Kyuhyun will do well for it. Really, he's a good photographer but his personality...is really scary."
"Hyung, you shouldn’t' be scared of your own employee!" Donghae snickered at his boss' cowardness towards the younger photographer. "That's great anyway. I'll just work with some of the photos on my computer and I'll be back tomorrow. Thank you Jongwoon hyung."
"Rest well."
Donghae proceeded with taking a fast shower and then he started working with the photos from a photo shoot he had last week. Donghae was one of the best photographers in the country and he had been voted as a top ten best several times, but he had never accepted any offer to work in the large companies or abroad. He liked it the best with Jongwoon's firm. Time flew by and he noticed the clock was already past ten and he was almost worried why Eunhyuk hadn't woken up yet. He almost flew out of his chair and stepped towards the bed room and pushed the door open and saw the boy standing by the window and looking out with a sad face.
"Eunhyuk-ah" Donghae's voice startled the younger one and he jumped a bit. Donghae opened the door fully and walked into the room with a smile. "You just woke up?" Hyukjae shook his head. "Really? How long have you been up then?" His head noticed the bed was neatly made.
"A couple of hours..." Donghae widened his eyes.
"You don't have to stay in here all the time! If you wake up before I do, you could just wake me up too! Make yourself at home"
Hyukjae shuddered at the last words, but it went unnoticed to Donghae.
"You must be hungry right? Go and wash up so will I prepare breakfast." The brunette opened a cabinet next to the bed and took out a large towel. "Ehm, do you have any spare clothes with you?"
"No..."
"That's okay. I might have some...smaller clothes." He searched through the closet and held up a large sweater, obviously a too big one for Hyukjae. The boy couldn’t hold back a small smile as took the sweater from Donghae.
"Thank you." The blonde quickly headed to the bathroom with the towel and sweater tightly pressed to his chest. He let out a deep breath when he closed the bathroom door and locked it, resting his head against the wall. Slowly he tugged at the hem the shirt he was wearing, ready to take it off but hesitated. His eyes traveled across the ceiling and corners of the bathroom, slight suspicions awakening in him if there might be some kind of recording device on there. What if Donghae really was another perverted person who was trying to do all the things he already had been exposed for? But he couldn't find anything suspicious in the room though and decided to trust the brunette man for a moment. Hyukjae undressed himself and started showering, and he caught himself smiling as he used Donghae's shampoo, which he thought smelled really nice.
He dried his hair with the towel and dressed himself in Donghae's large sweater. It felt really warm and soft to his body, but then he noticed he hadn't received any trousers to wear. He pondered for minutes about what to do until he decided for popping out his head through the door and saw Donghae sitting by the dining table with his computer.
"D-Donghae-sshi....trousers." the called out man turned when he heard Hyukjae’s voice.
"Oh I'm sorry, I forgot about those! Wait a moment." Donghae stood up and walked past him and into the bed room for a moment and returned with a pair of blue and little worn out jeans.
"I've kind of grown out of those, so I think they might fit you." The man smiled and Hyukjae retreated to the bathroom to put on the jeans. When he got out Donghae was busy preparing the breakfast. Hyukjae sat down on the chair next to the one Donghae had been sitting on when working. He saw a picture of a young male posing next to a tree in a park filling up the screen and in a second he got mesmerized by the beauty radiating from the picture.
"Do you like it?" Donghae asked and put down a tray with sliced bread on the table saying a silent "here you go" and sat down on his chair. Hyukjae nodded and waited to take the bread until Donghae had started eating his. "Maybe you know of Choi Siwon? He's a successful model at our company. He's very polite too, really nice guy to work with." Hyukjae gave him a questioning look.
"You're a model too?" Hyukjae asked innocently and Donghae burst out in a heartwarming laughter and almost choked on his food. The boy blushed and wondered if he had asked something really stupid. His laugh sounds so heart-warming and sincere.
"No, I'm not a model, but I take that as a compliment" Donghae's eyes twinkled towards the blonde as he continued. "I'm just the photographer. I do some slight editing too, but it's not really needed."
"You mean you took this photo?" Donghae nodded and felt a bit of pride grow on the inside when Hyukjae's eyes widened a little.
"He looks really beautiful..." The blonde kept staring at the screen and Donghae had to prepare Hyukjae's toast because the latter seemed to be way too absorbed by browse through all the pictures.
