Never Letting You Go 3/?

Aug 18, 2012 20:50

“Is there anything you need before I leave?” The door closed again as Donghae had turned to check on the boy sitting in his living room with a book in his hands. He’s been looking through Donghae’s “special” photo album the whole morning, staring mesmerized at some pictures and carefully turn over the pages as if they easily would rip. It seemed like Hyukjae hadn’t heard him and he had to repeat his question a little louder so it would reach the boy’s ears. Hyukjae jumped a little at the loud voice and smacked the book close, his eyes landing on Donghae by the apartment’s door.

“N-no. I’m fine.”

“Good. If you’re hungry or thirsty, just pick something from the fridge. I’ll be back in two to three hours.”

The brunette picked up an umbrella before stepping outside and sent Hyukjae a smile before closing the door.

The blonde continued looking through the pictures again, for the third time that morning. There were pictures of landscapes and animals and also a few persons, which Donghae had explained were his parents and closest friends. But after a while the loneliness started to grow inside of Hyukjae as he put aside the album and listened to the all too quiet surroundings. But at the same time, he was able to relax and not feel nervous around Donghae.

This morning he had woken up to darkness outside the window instead of the rays of sun, and for each hour the sky grew darker. It was obvious the rain would start falling any minute. He had to turn on all the lamps in the house so it wouldn’t be too dark, along with the television to get rid of the silence.

For some reason, as he stared at the TV to see if there was anything worth watching, he felt that he actually wanted Donghae to be there. It was too lonely and quiet, and just the presence of the brunette filled those up even though they would be in different parts of the house.

For each meal and each helpful act Donghae made for him, he was more and more thankful to the other. What if it hadn’t been Donghae who had given him food and shield and a nice bed to sleep in? Would he just walked around the city or would someone else have helped him?

Even though his trust grew he was still slightly scared to let him in. It was hard to communicate, because he really wasn’t good on that.

A small drop of water fell against the large window of the living room and rolled down slowly like a tear, and was soon followed by a second drop and then multiple others. He let the volume of the TV raise so the soft smatters wouldn’t be heard and it worked for about thirty minutes until he had to repeat it and turn the volume up even more.

The sounds of rain made him very uneasy. Rainy days was what he associated with bad punches and painful splitting feelings in his lower back area, along with screams and yells that drowned in the storms clutter. He didn’t want to remember, but seeing the darkness outside and still hearing the harsh rain hitting the windows played over the memories in his head.

A large lightening lit up the black clouds, closely followed by a deafening roar of thunder made Hyukjae automatically huddle himself and forced his hands to cover his ears. Minutes later, everything went black. Power outrage had been the last thing the blonde had needed right now, and his tears had started welling out of his eyes because he was scared. The rain and the thunder roared even louder and he though he heard steps.

The same steps he walked with in the corridor before reaching Hyukjae’s door and pushing it open. Those painfully slow steps that still echoed when he took them, each one taking him closer to the blonde boy who almost always lay on the bed, shaking.

Even this time he was shaking. He knew the door was locked and there was no way anyone would be able to walk in, but then there was something telling him that when it came to that man, nothing was impossible.

His legs reached the floor, and he almost tripped over as the lightening surprised him with its loud ‘bang’, and made his way to the bedroom.

Now he was sure he could hear the steps for real. Someone who pushed a key into the locker and opened it, and quickly stepping inside. There was a ruffling sound and then a familiar voice calling for him.

“Eunhyuk?! Are you in the bedroom?”

The addressed boy recognized Donghae’s worried voice and then the door in front of him opened and he was met by the brunette.

“D-D-onghae!” He cried out and the man was quickly sitting in front of him on the floor, pulling him closer to give him comfort.

“It’s okay.” He stroke his hands over Hyukjae’s back to calm him down.  “I guessed the power were out here as well.”

“I-I am s-scared… I-I…”

“Shh…It won’t hurt you.” Donghae felt a small tingling feeling in his body as the blonde boy had his arms hugging him tightly and pressed his tearstained face into his chest, but shook it off to concentrate on comforting the boy. “I’m here now, you’re not alone Eunhyuk. Nothing will happen to you, so don’t be scared.”

Hyukjae continued crying hard and hugging Donghae. Because he knew that if Donghae was there, his father wouldn’t do anything to him. It wasn’t until twenty minutes later that the rain had turned into mist and the thunder was gone completely that Hyukjae began to calm down. Once again he felt the secure feeling of being close to, and embraced by Donghae. Just like when you are in your mother’s womb. It’s warm, it’s safe, and you know there always is someone close who will always care and protect.

He felt exhausted and his head hurt after crying so much for so long. Donghae was still patting his back and occasionally stroking his hair and play a little with his locks. His arms loosened as he tried to sit up straight on his own, while Donghae still held his hand on his arm as a gesture of comfort. Donghae waited until Hyukjae’s breaths had evened out after the crying before pulling him up on shaky legs.

“Come on. It seems like the power is not coming back just yet, so I’ll just go and see if there are any candles to light things up.”

More than twenty tea lights were placed on the coffee table and various others that had been placed on a shelf and then some on the dining table. Donghae took out a carton of strawberry milk and handed it to Hyukjae before sitting down on the sofa next to the younger.

“Are you okay now?” Donghae asked as he ruffled Hyukjae’s hair gently. Accidentally, Hyukjae spit out some of his milk at the touch. He wasn’t uncomfortable, but he just suddenly felt somewhat surprised. Donghae chuckled and rose to get a napkin. The boy mumbled a “sorry” as he received the paper and started cleaning up his lip and his jeans.

“The power outage affected our photo shoot so I came back earlier, but I didn’t expect to find you like that.”

Hyukjae continued sipping his milk and lowered his head, mumbling another “sorry”.

“Don’t apologize. Many people are afraid of storms and thunder, I was too when I was young.”

Nothing more was said for a long while, and they both stared into the lights’ small flames. Hyukjae found them very pretty, and he couldn’t help but to like the way it illuminated Donghae’s handsome face at those times he stole a glance of the other.

When thinking back a few moments, Hyukjae knew he was safe here. Always at these times of bad weather he would be treated badly by his father, but this time nothing had happened. This time he wasn’t even there. Only Donghae had come to him, and he had made him feel safe. Donghae had protected him from those hideous things he had been exposed to.

“Thank you Donghae….hyung.”

The latter turned to Hyukjae with a smile and patted his head. Hyukjae felt the same gentleness in Donghae’s touches just like in his mother’s. He let his own lips light up in a smile.

“No problems. By the way, do you want to do something? It might be funnier than sitting here and just stare.”

“O-okay.”

A chill made its way through the blonde’s body, from head to toes, as he noticed Donghae staring at him with a scary expression. The lips tugged up in a smirk and then turn into a mischievous, playful one.

“Great.”

~*~

“Please Donghae hyung…I don’t want to! Please don’t!”

“Why not? Come on. It won’t hurt you, I promise.”

“I-it’s not right!”

“But you’re not moving, so you have to secretly want to do it.”

“B-but, hyung…”

Hyukjae groaned at the odd and kind of sticky feeling. Is this really normal? It didn’t feel right.

Donghae pulled away with a satisfied smile. “It’s perfect. Look.” The brunette backed so Hyukjae would be able to see it, and then he faced his own reflection. His eyes looked dark and defined after Donghae had persisted on putting on an eye liner for him. He thought that make-up was only for girls, but after Donghae said even models like Siwon used it, he slightly agreed to it. It actually looked good, and it made Hyukjae look less weak somehow, but why did he need the eye-liner at all?

The brunette pulled down the blinds and covered the curtains in the bedroom so there would be no single drop of light coming in.

“D-Donghae hyung?”

The man had made him dress up, ruffle his hair and even put on make-up, and Hyukjae still couldn’t understand what Donghae wanted to do because the other would just smile every time he asked. “You’ll see. I just want to show you what I can do.”

Then, a bright light coming from a small spotlight placed on the floor, lit up the wall Donghae had covered with a black sheet.

“Hm… It’s not that great, but it will do. It’s not like these pictures will get out.”

The blonde widened his eyes towards the man who just smiled to him once again.

“Pictures? You…You’re going to take pictures of me?” The boy felt insecure. He wasn’t that fond of the idea. He remembered looking at Siwon when he had been with Donghae and at that time Siwon had showed a charismatic side and also he was really good looking. Hyukjae knew that he would just look like a bug compared to the tall man.

“I hope you don’t mind too much. I know many people usually don’t like being photographed, but I really wanted to test some shots on you, and I want to try out some new things with my camera also. They will come out great, I promise.”

The boy looked hesitant as he was standing in front of the camera and the spotlight lit up his pale skin to an even more bright color.

Donghae couldn’t think else than that Hyukjae was indeed beautiful. He tried not to stare for too long at the moments his eyes just got stuck, observing all the features of the boy. He wanted to tell the boy he really did look good and stop having such low self-esteem, but figured he should hold it in or he would sound like an old creep.

“Relax, Eunhyuk-ah. Are you ready?” The brunette raised his camera to his face when Hyukjae had nodded and he felt himself blushing when he didn’t know what to do. Should he just stand there? A flash lit up the entire room for a split second and the boy made a face.

The camera was lowered and Donghae peeked over it with a comforting smile to the nervous blonde.

“Just think about something that makes you happy. Something that can make you smile.”

Hyukjae nodded, starting to rotate his memories in his head of those moments he had been happy and settling with the time he was playing with his mother in their garden. It was always fun to spend time with her. The corners of his mouth started turn upwards, but he also remembered his father joining them that very time and his expression fell. Even though Donghae was looking through the camera, he could see the clearly unhappy face.

“Hyuk-ah.” The addressed boy jerked his face towards the camera, surprised to hear Donghae calling him by his nickname. Donghae smiled and continued. “You liked the strawberry milk very much, right? How does it taste like?” If he was lucky, the boy’s face would lit up by just the word “strawberry”.

Hyukjae nodded slowly. He forgot about the camera and looked at the wall behind the small spot lighter.
“It’s really sweet. And somehow it feels soft to drink it…. It tastes very nice!” A bright flash lit up the room once again and his eyes clutched shut right after. Donghae stood up and showed the picture to Hyukjae, and he saw himself wearing a smile on his lips. He must have done that unconsciously.

The brunette ruffled his hair, and to his surprise his heart started to beat faster at the touch, so he pulled away carefully. Donghae didn’t mind and retreated to his previous position. “Remember to think about things that makes you comfortable. Let’s continue.”

This time he looked straight into the camera and one flash after another hit his face. His eyes wandered to the messy brown hair that Donghae didn’t seem to bother to fix. It looked fun. Donghae’s one eye was clutched while the other was looking though the eye of the camera, and his tongue was sticking out cutely in between his lips. By just thinking about Donghae, and all he had done for him, his face beamed in a bright smile that even reached his eyes.

"You stupid....!" a clammer flew across the room in the direction of one of Mr. Lee's workers. "It's been over two weeks and you still haven't found him!? A pig would be faster in finding him then you are! Damn." Mr. Lee cursed and threw more stuff towards the door to make all the people there leave. "Fucking shit!" The man stood up and emerged from his room, walking down the corridor, to the left and then the second door on the left. He opened it and looked around Hyukjae's empty room to see if there was any evidence of where he could've gone. But nothing was found and the man cursed and took an old family photo and smashed in the floor. He sat down on the bed and took out his cell phone and started dialing a number furiously.

"Yes, this is Lee Kyu Joong. Yes, hello. May I speak with Han-sshi?"

"Han-sshi, great. I thought I could manage finding my son with average agents but they've only proven themselves hopeless and I wish to get your help.

“I'll pay you double; it’s my son we're talking about! Thank you, Han-sshi, I'll send you the information documents and please contact me when you've found him.”

The man glanced down at the photo with a broken frame on the floor and smirked.

"Now Hyukjae, soon this little play of yours will be over."

~*~

It has been quite a long time since Hyukjae had arrived at Mokpo and started living at Donghae's home. He felt all his fears for the brunette was erased for each day and was replaced by admiration. He almost saw Donghae as a friend and he could actually smile happily again. His thoughts were released and could think of other stuff than just his father.

But he knew he couldn’t stay. Both because he’s been too much of a bother for Donghae, and also because he was scared to be found easier. Even though he had stayed inside most of the time so he wouldn’t be seen by public.

Donghae had been sitting on the couch most of the morning reading, while Hyukjae was lying in the bed and just stared at the ceiling. The brunette would call out for him every now and then just to see if everything was okay with the boy, and then continue with his reading.

The man was really getting used to have Hyukjae in the house, and it also made him happy. Usually he would linger at his job because it was too lonely to go home, but now he enjoyed staying because he had company.

Hyukjae let out a sigh and turned over to lie on his stomach, and then called out Donghae’s name. The other hummed in response while pausing his eyes at a word so he could listen.

“I’ll try to find somewhere else to live.” He hugged the pillow he was lying on and thinking over his plans again. There was a moment of silence before Donghae answered.

“Why?” The usual soft voice reached Hyukjae’s ears even though they were in separate rooms.

“I’ve been here for too long. I’m only causing you trouble.” He could hear that Donghae closed his book and rose as he put it away. Seconds later he glanced to the doorway where the man was standing. Hyukjae tried holding back his smile, because Donghae with glasses looked pretty amusing.

But then Donghae chuckled and he thought the other must be relieved to have him leaving. The only thing that came was,

“You don’t have any money.” It was almost a slightly mocking tone, and Hyukjae furrowed his brows.

How could he have forgotten such a thing?

“And everyone isn’t nice enough to let runaway boys stay at their houses.” Donghae continued walking into the room and stuck his tongue out at Hyukjae, while sitting on the floor next to the bed. His chin rested comfortably at the edge. Hyukjae still couldn’t come to any conclusion why this grown up man always managed to put on a childish face.

Hyukjae also noticed Donghae’s hand was massaging his lower back, and his brows furrowed themselves even more if it was possible. Donghae had done that for some days in a row now.

“I still can’t trouble you anymore.”

“You’re not troubling me, Eunhyuk!” Donghae looked serious at his eyes and trying to convince the boy that he was happy to help.

“Your back hurts right?” The brunette looked wondering at him. “It’s obvious since you touch it all the time and make faces. And your couch is really uncomfortable.”

Donghae just smiled sincerely at him. “It’s fine. And also, if I’m letting you stay, then I want you to stay. Please don’t go wander around.”

"Then sleep with me" The statement made the brunette’s mind to do flips.

"What!?" He jumped straight up to his feet and stared at the boy. How could…?

"No, I -I didn't mean it that way!” Hyukjae sat up, face red and held up the pillow to hide it. “I mean sleep together. L-like sleeping next to…The couch is really uncomfortable to sleep on, and the bed is big enough for both of us. It's your bed after all and I intruded here and occupied it so it feels wrong."

Donghae let out a sigh and then sat on the edge of the bed, one hand ruffling his hair.

"First of all, don't think of yourself as an intruder. I'm really happy to have you here. Before it was quite boring and I felt lonely, but ever since you came the atmosphere has been a lot nicer. And secondly, about the bed... I don't think-"

"No. I know your back hurts from sleeping on the couch. At least let's change so I will sleep on the couch instead." Donghae smiled when he saw Hyukjae's confident expression. The boy had changed a lot since they first met, so Donghae thought he had overcome the problems he had been through before.

"Let's just sleep in the bed both of us then. I don't want you to hurt your young back on that couch. Really, I should get a new one."

Hyukjae smiled shyly and hugged the pillow closer. Donghae was so nice. He felt like he was some kind of savior who was to help and protect him in his life.

“Do you want to go out somewhere?”

Hyukjae still wanted to avoid going outside, so he shook his head. He didn’t feel like he was scared of others anymore, because since Donghae was nice shouldn’t there be others too? Maybe it was only his father who acted that way. But who knows if he was still looking for him.

“I’ll be leaving in a while. Will you be okay?”

Hyukjae nodded and nuzzled his face into the pillow. “I’ll be fine.”

Suddenly he felt Donghae’s hand stroke his hair, which had become a habit to the latter, and the fingers started to pull softly and some of the locks. He lay still with his face in the pillow, but now closed his eyes because of the nice feeling.

“Sorry,” Donghae paused his hand and moved it away just a little. “It’s just that your hair looks so fluffy that I can’t help but to touch it.”

“It’s okay. I like it when someone touches my hair like that.” Hyukjae mumbled into the pillow. Donghae smiled and let his hand bury itself in the blonde hair once more. He felt calmed down and fell asleep without noticing it himself.

It wasn’t until the hand stopped moving and he heard a faint whisper from Donghae that he woke up just slightly, but returned to sleep once again when the outer door closed.

~*~

Hyukjae sparred up his eyes when he heard the front door open up. The clock barely twelve, which means Donghae left about an hour ago. He couldn’t be back already. A step and the sound of the door closing carefully were followed, and the boy was left staring towards the open bedroom’s door. His body started shaking - what if it’s them? Had they found him? He didn’t dare to check who was there or speak up. Donghae would always call out for him when he returned, and right now nothing was heard but another step. He had pushed himself to the edge of the bed as he heard the unknown person walking around in the apartment with haste steps.

What was he going to do? He should have locked the door!

The steps grew louder as the intruder came straight into the bedroom where Hyukjae was sitting and shaking. He looked at the man standing in the middle of the room and staring right back at him before a smile grew on the black haired stranger’s face.

“Eunhyuk isn’t it?” He asked in a voice he found extremely creepy. They found out his fake name too?

He didn’t really know what he was doing, but a second later he had grabbed a pillow and threw it at the stranger. Of course he knew it wouldn’t hurt the other, but he just wanted to show that he didn’t want anything to do with him.

“I-I’m not going anywhere, so go away!” His voice was raised and trembled as he tried to sound threatening. The other just gave him and odd look and shook his head.

A second pillow hit the man’s face, and it turned slightly red due from anger.

“Would you please respect your elders and stop throwing pillows at me?” The black-haired male sighed quietly and looked at Hyukjae who already had a third pillow in his hand. “I need to find the silver watch but I don’t know where to find it, so could you be kind and help me?”

Hyukjae lowered the pillow. “D-Donghae’s lucky watch?” He wasn’t after Hyukjae? Just a burglar?

“Exactly, that o-“He didn’t get to finish before the third pillow was sent at him.

Hyukjae thought back to yesterday when Donghae had actually told that his watch was his lucky charm he had got on his 20th birthday. He felt a bit upset now that someone wanted to steal it from him.

“You can’t have it! It means a lot to Donghae! You can steal anything here, but not the watch!”

The boy was sent another weird look from the other, and he couldn’t understand what it meant, but backed two small steps anyway.

The stranger then scratched his neck and smiled weirdly once again.

“I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Donghae’s colleague, Cho Kyuhyun. I forgot we didn’t meet properly the time you were with Donghae, I just saw you from afar.”

Hyukjae nodded in acknowledgement as he recognized the name as Donghae had mentioned it at some time.

“Donghae said he forgot his watch, and that he really needed it today. He had to prepare for a shoot, so I was the one who had to go and get it.”

Kyuhyun almost looked like he was about Jungsu’s age. His eyes traveled up and down to inspect the man. Even though he looked so young he was already very tall. Kyuhyun caught to boy staring at him and frowned.

“Would you help me find the watch or not? Seriously, Donghae’s like a whiny bitch when he doesn’t wear it.” The black haired male had turned to look among the stuff on the coffee table if was lying there.

Hyukjae kept his position but raised a pointing finger towards the bathroom door.

“He…He usually puts it next to the sink.” Kyuhyun looked up and followed Hyukjae’s finger with his eyes. Twenty seconds later the tall male came out with a satisfied smile and the watch in his hand.

“Thanks.” Kyuhyun was about to exit the apartment without another word, but stopped in his tracks and turned back to the bedroom. “I’m just curious about something.” He took the hostility to sit down in on the chair next to the door.

“W-what do you want?”

“What are you to Donghae?”

Hyukjae’s eyes widened in surprise, because he hadn’t expected that kind of question. But really, what is he? A friend? Roommate? Or just an intruder who’s making a stay?

“I-I… I’m just… someone he knows…”

Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow but nodded also. “He seems to cherish you a lot.” The words were incoherent for Hyukjae who waited for the other to repeat but nothing more was said. “Well, I’ll leave now. See ya.”

The boy hurried over to the door that just had been closed and made sure to lock it properly this time. That person sure had been odd. He felt his heart still beating nervously in his chest.

For an hour he watched the television, but then got tired because the shows just seemed weird or boring, so he shut it off and walked around in circles in the apartment.

He spotted a telephone on a drawer by the hallway and mentally apologized to Donghae as he picked it up and went back to the bedroom. Donghae had after all told him he could use all the stuff in the apartment, but it still felt a bit rude to do so without asking first. He took up his bag and searched through it and managed to fish up that very familiar small piece of paper with a number he almost had memorized by heart. Each button let out a beep as he pushed them down, and then he lifted it to his ear. The voice greeting him made him feel less lonely.

"Oh Eunhyuk!" A happy Jungsu called when he introduced himself, since the number was unfamiliar to the other. "Nice to have you calling"
"Hi Jungsu-sshi"
"Drop the 'sshi' Eunhyuk, we're friends right?" Hyukjae felt a happy spark in his heart at the word 'friends'. "You're still on your run, huh? You want to have a ride again?" Jungsu was talking really fast that Hyukjae barely heard what he said.
"No. I just wanted to talk to someone. I'm kind of lonely right now..."
"Oh really? And you called me! I'm honored. Where are now? Maybe we could meet up?"
 "Uh, I'm…in Mokpo."
"Mokpo? Of all the places you chose to run to Mokpo? Wow, but that's a little too far for me to go right now. Maybe another time, actually I’ll be going that way in a couple of days. But talking over the phone's alright for now?"
"Yes." Hyukjae smiled at Jungsu's never ending talking.
“Actually, I’ve tried text you but it says it can’t be sent? How come?”
“I de-activated my phone…”
“Is it anything serious? Because… I’m not sure about this is about you, but I got a weird phone call some days ago. Someone asked for a person named ‘Hyukjae’, saying he had called my number. I just though, that name’s similar to yours, so…”
Hyukjae bit his lip. So they were trying to get the track of him? Fear started to sneak around in him, and he was worried they would actually succeed. Jungsu, who waited for an answer, read the silence as a confirmation that Eunhyuk was actually Hyukjae. “I told them it was just someone who called the wrong number.”
Hyukjae breathed out. “Th-thank you hyung. I’m sorry I haven’t been honest with you.” His voice shook a little.
“It’s okay. And you can tell me more about it anytime when you’re ready.”
Jungsu then started to talk about other stuff to ease Hyukjae up and it indeed worked. His goofy and lame jokes actually made the latter laugh a lot and he was very absorbed in the talking he had lost track of time and didn’t even notice the brunette man watching him from the doorway.
He finally bid goodbye to his friend and was made to promise to call again. When he slid of the bed he first took notice of Donghae’s presence and nearly fell back.
“I… Sorry, but I used your phone.” He held up the telephone awkwardly.
“It’s okay. You can use it anytime you want to. You haven’t got your own, right?” Hyukjae shook his head and proceeded to put the device back. Donghae had walked over to the kitchen to finish cooking their dinner. The blonde was surprised that it almost was done, and wondered for how long the other had been home.
“Thank you for helping Kyu finding my watch.” Donghae held up his arm to show the small ticking silver object around his wrist. “It helped me a lot.”
The other’s smile made Hyukjae feel happy himself and felt slightly proud that he was able to help.
“Oh, am I too intruding if I asked who you talked to?” Donghae asked as they had started eating. Hyukjae waited until he had finished swallowing his rice - which he actually could eat now without any problem - so that he could answer.
“It was a friend of mine.” A smile decorated his lips as he mentioned ‘friend’. “His name is Jungsu.”
“He must be a nice friend then. You’ve been talking a lot since I arrived an hour ago.” Hyukjae apologized for being antisocial towards Donghae, but the latter shook his head. “I’m happy you have friends to talk to.”
They continued dining and Hyukjae offered himself do the dishes afterwards while Donghae was taking a bath.
Donghae sighed at the comfort feeling after showering and feeling fresh. He leaned over the sink to wash his face, and herd the clatter from plates being washed. It made him happy to know that Hyukjae actually was making himself more and more at home here, but he also didn’t understand why he would be happy. When thinking about it, he realized he had become rather fond of the boy. He smiled and turned the tap of.
He groaned as he notice he hadn’t picked up any clothes with him to the bathroom, so he left with just the towel on his hips.
Hyukjae pondered over where he should put the glasses he had dried it. He them so Donghae could put it where it should be later, but then he heard the bathroom door unlock.
“Donghae, where should I-“ Crash.
“Oh gosh, Eunhyuk don’t move okay?”
Hyukjae hadn’t expected to see Donghae in only a towel, and for some reason he just lost control of his hands and dropped the glasses in surprise.
Donghae came towards him, still in only a towel but also shoes, and walked over a few small pieces of glass.
“I-I-I’m sorry hyung.”
Donghae just waved him off and held out his arms.
“It’s okay, that kind of stuff happens. Now come here, so you won’t walk on any glass.”
Hyukjae could only stare at the bare chest and arms Donghae stretched out. He decided on closing his eyes and then hold his hands on to Donghae’s shoulders as the latter lifted him by the waist and turned around, away from all the broken glass.
“Are you okay Eunhyuk? You didn’t scrape yourself anywhere did you?”
The boy shook his bowed head. He had been really scared that Donghae would get angry at him because he broke something, but Donghae only wondered if he was alright.
"I’m really sorry…” The boy glanced up towards Donghae’s face, eyes meeting the chest on the way, and saw only the other’s smile. Even though he did something wrong Donghae would still smile at him. He’s the right opposite from how his father is.
Hyukjae blushed, feeling embarrassed because of the recent incident and also because of the way Donghae was smiling at him (and he was still being half-naked).
“Don’t worry. Just sit down and check your feet for sure, so you haven’t got any glass in them. I’ll just change and then I will clean up.” He pushed the blonde a little and sat him on the couch while proceeding to the bedroom.
Hyukjae still only looked into space, cheeks still flushed and the feeling of Donghae’s skin against his hands still lingering.
He was scared because he didn’t know what the weird feeling he was having meant.
A/N: Annyeong~ Still not happening much here, does it? Only that Hyukjae and Donghae is getting along better… Kekeke, there will happen more stuff later in the story, so be patient ^^
