It was pretty terrible, but there's a chance I over-reacted to it because it looked and felt so bad. The main thing, I guess, is that the dog survived too and he could even run once the driver backed off.

Oh, hon, I'm so sorry about your grandmother. :( *cuddles* And what you said, that's exactly it. It's the personal sadness over the people I've lost, mixed with the thoughts about what's lost of their stories when they're gone, only with an added sense of responsibility and, I guess, a certain feeling of anxiety. I hope we don't fail in passing on these stories to the next generation. I hope I don't fail. My family barely spoke about it until a later stage in life and then, the stories aren't quite as coherent as they once would have been ( ... )
