* - I'm at my Mom's house in Netanya right now, using her lap top, which means I haven't a lot of time and I can't reply to comments right now, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those of you who replied to my post about the whole flotilla mess. You guys have no idea how much that means to me ( Read more... )

Happy birthday! I'm already the same age that my mom was when she gave birth to me (26), but happily, I don't want kids and never will!

Don't worry about your country.

Not saying that you should say 'fuck it' and live in a box and not read the news (=me), but just don't worry about it cause there sadly isn't much anyone can do about it.

Thank you, hon! :D *mwah* And yeah, that would have been nice if I didn't either, would have made life easier for sure. Sadly, I'm crazy about kids and I'm actually good with them too. So I can't help but want my own. :">

Heee, I went through that phase at some point. :) It didn't last long, since you can't avoid being updated when you live in Israel and tuning out the news is therefore useless. But who knows? 2012 isn't too far and maybe by then, none of us would have anything to worry about anymore. :P

Some people are good with kids, and smart enough to be good mothers. I have so many ridiculous cultural theories about people having kids though, don't ask.

For me it wasn't a phase. It was part of why I needed to leave. I only really know what people tell me about Israel. I hate politics.

You think that the world will end in 2012?

Actually, I have to ask now, because I'm intrigued. :D Do share!

I get that. It drives me nuts sometimes. I guess part of the reason I'm still here, though, is that I know if I lived abroad I'd be tuning in to hear the news even more. I wouldn't be able to filter it out of my system and being farther from Israel would have only made it more difficult. But this is part of the beauty of human diversity, right? That I'm different from you on this one, and yet I can still understand the feeling at the core of your experience. *hugs*

So the Mayans say. ;) Now my Mom is breathing down my neck, she said she's give me a lift to my Dad's where there's no net access and I've been making her wait in order to be able to reply to you, so have a good weekend, hon, and we'll talk some more later! *MWAH*

I know little of politics, even that of my country, but one thing is certain, if there was more respect, there would be much less suffering.

I have 2 children, and they are my life, it is not easy being a mother, but it is something special:)

There is a phrase in LOTR, I love "There's some good in this world Frodo master, and is worth fighting for."

PS. The wishes you will do tomorrow :)

You're not missing out on much when it comes to politics. I really wish I didn't have to deal with that kidn of crap. But I agree, of all people looked at each other with respect and looking after another's dignity as their do after their own, a lof ot things would have been better.

I've no doubt about that. :) It's why I want that as well. And I hope you and your little ones will have nothing but health, happiness and good fortune!

*nods* I loved that too. And he was right, that Samwise. ;)

What a great speech. I don't think his language is too strong at all. The UN has been ignoring a lot of suffering around the world in order to please its Muslim members. I don't know if yםu've seen the videos from Darfur, but what's going on there is very similar to the Holocaust. And the UN turns a blind eye...

Have a great day tomorrow! I hope it's filled with cakes, presents, friends and happiness (and no TV). MAZAL TOV!

I agree, it has been ignoring a lot od wrong doings around the world and it pisses me off. I don't know if I'd compare Darfur to the Holocaust (nothing will ever be as bad as the latter, I hope, ever again in the history of human kind) but I agree that it's a terrifying genocide that's being carried out with disturbing ease and lack of intervention from the rest of the world. I have no doubt about the fact that the UN is incredibly biased in its actions (as would be any international forum, since the non-democratic members will always outnumber the democratic ones), but I would use softer language because when you're being too harsh (even if you are right), people simply can't hear you. And I think what he's saying is so important that it needs to be heard.

Thank you so much, honey! :D It was a good day and this is a lovely final note to it. And thank you for making it that bit better! ;D *MWAH* <3<3<3

It's my birthday tomorrow. I'll officially be of the same age as my Mom was when she gave birth to me. Did you hear that loud ticking? Yep, definitely a biological clock. :P

I know that feeling, when my mum was my age my elder brother would have been just three months old. :)

Please write that fairy tale!

♥ you

It's terrible, isn't it? XD And my Dad's even younger, which doesn't make matters any better.

Oh, I believe I will! ;D Can't help it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,ANNIE!!!:)
I wish you all the best in the world, you're an amazing lady!
*kisses and hugs*

I'm trying to avoid talking about all that political nightmare we're in right now, especially on the net.I can't deal with this anymore.I'm trying to keep LJ as my happy place-but it gets harder and harder with every day.The way the world remains blind and continues to see only one side of the mess-it hurts, you know?REALLY hurts.

We don't really need to worry about UN,for many many years they've been nothing but useless and the whole world knows it.They talk too much and create all this hate, but other than that they can't do anything.

Thank you so much, darling! :D *MWAH*
And you're an incredible friend, I'm always thankful to LJ for the fact that I got to meet you. I hope we get to do that again soon! *huggles and kisses galore*

I know what you mean, I think I have to, though, just because I can't stand some of the stuff I see posted on the net. It drives me to say something, because even if that doesn't help much, it's better than feeling completely helpless about this whole fucking mess. And yeah, it reminds me of stuff that I thought belonged to centuries past, not to the modern world, which I thought has come to see us as just another nation as all nations. Then again, בכל דור ודור...

That's true, it's bite really isn't that bad. I'm more worries about the trouble they can give our soldiers in places where the UN soldiers are stationed (like the border of Lebanon, they really harass them there) and of their influence on public opinion (which affects the decisions of world leaders like Obama).
