The first tutorial :D

Program used: Adobe Photoshop CS3
Techniques: Selective Coloring, Color Fill
Difficulty: Easy

Go from 
to


1. Choose your picture, the brighter it is the better.

2. Duplicate your background layer. Set the duplicated layer's blending mode to Screen and 50% Opacity.
(Drag and drop the layer to this icon: 
)

3. Go to Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Selective Coloring... . Adjust the sliders accordingly to your taste, the effect depends on your picture.

My coloring was:

Blacks:
Cyan > -100
Yellow > +100

Press OK. After this set the blending mode to Color Burn and 50% opacity.

4. Repeat step 3, but this time the coloring is:

Cyan:
Cyan > +100
Magenta > -100
Yellow > -100
Black > +100

Neutrals:
Cyan > +100

Black:
Cyan > +100

Press OK. Set the blending mode to Screen and 50% opacity.

5. Go to Layer >> New Fill Layer >> Solid Color... . Place #14B4FF. Set the blending mode to Soft Light and opacity 70%.

6. OPTIONAL: You can merge the layers and sharpen it. To do this, press SHIFT + CTRL + E. This should merge the visible layers. Now, go to Filters >> Sharpen >> Sharpen.
