David Halberstam died yesterday in a car crash. Kurt Vonnegut died April 11. Two amazing writers dead unexpectedly within two weeks of each other. It's so sad. Halbertstam led quite an amazing life - I can't imagine winning a Pulitzer at 30 years old. I read his work The Fifties in college. It was assigned reading by the professor that became

i have been wondering how you're doing. that is very sad about halberstam, i remember going to see him speak when he came to ut, he was so interesting to listen to.
