Flash works now. The only things left unworking are wireless internet, microphone, and headphones. (I've got an Acer Aspire 4820TG.)

How come you don't have a CD that will revert to the original installation, anyway? You should have that, or be able to ask Acer for it.
Also for the wireless card you could use the Windows driver and ndiswrapper as a last resort.
The microphone and headphones thing is just bizzare.
Honestly there's no good reason to be stuck with a half-functioning Ubuntu on that computer.
