Why I dropped off of LJ for so long

I could blame my thesis. It was going to be "Several Canonical Results in Harmonic Analysis, Exotified" - basically I was going to substitute some trippy wavelet-like objects and some trippy alternative maximal functions into some important inequalities and see if I could still prove them. But, my thesis proposal got rejected. My committee said
