Jamais vois n'en serez les maitres.
Qu'on lui ferme la porte au nez,
Il reviendra par les fenetres.

my knowledge of french lit is filled with gaps, and la fontaine is one of them. however, the quote translates as "you'll never be nature's master. if you push her out the door, she'll climb through the window."

to check myself, you just said that you searched your knowledge of french poets but you didn't find la fontaine. who is he?
right?
right?

i can't believe i took four years of french.

well, close, but...

i said "i searched through all my french poetry books but couldn't fine this poem. what is it?" but all the accents were missing because livejournal sucks like that.

and your translation of the actual poem is pretty darn good. hope to see ya tonight.

Well, I may not be up on French, but I know how to say, "Oboruni fitaa pe se di paanoo."

"White people like to eat bread." And it's true.

Actually, amazingly, now that I look at the sentence, I still fucked it up.
