My understanding is that there were actually several people who won that contest, because there were several "tea parties" over the course of a couple of weeks. (As you may have guessed, I was allowed to attend Felicity's tea party.) I believe a pair of sisters who were seated at my table at that party had won for our group--but I may well be mistaken.
For the party itself, there was a gift box given out containing a copy of Meet Felicity, a small sachet of potpourri in it, and a hat like she wears on the cover of the book (the name of which escapes me presently). There were probably other things in that box but I don't remember them now; there were crumbly cookies (shortbread? scones? something I made a mess of while eating) at the party and the tea had a vaguely raspberry-ish flavor to it, which most of the girls still thought needed sugar. And the creator of the American Girls brand spoke about her hopes in creating the series--to bring history to life and to spark the imaginations of young girls by showing them girls from
