Its that very easiness that is need for linux to become mainstream, glad its finally starting to happen as I still haven't found time to learn enough of linux to actually keep an installation.

I doubt it will really go mainstream. The problem is that it simply doesn't have the support of most consumer hardware and software manufactures.

See now, I spent 30 minutes yesterday trying to install a printer ink cartridge, and still couldn't get it to work. So I bow to your superior computer skills.

... yes, though to get my screen resolution right I still had to manually play around with X11 configuration files. But other than that, mostly it's been plain sailing.

It still has rough edges compared to windows. But little by little these are going way.
