Lindsay was still a little overwhelmed with everything she had been told about this place. She still wasn't quite sure what to believe. A phone call home seemed like the best option at the moment. Besides, she figured she should talk to her mother today of all days.

"Hi Mom," she said into the phone when her mother answered.

Rinoa was perched on her bed, reading the book that Christian had lent her at the picnic the day before.

He was right, the characters were hopelessly dull.

She glanced up when her new roommate hung up the phone. "Mother's day?" she asked.

Lindsay realized that maybe not everyone had the same customs and traditions she had. "Oh, it's a day just to celebrate Moms. It's always on a random Sunday in May. And there's a random Sunday in June set aside for Father's Day. It's generally celebrated in North America and possibly other places, too."
