Winter is a pain in the ass. We are supposed to pick up the puppy tomorrow, but now it looks like there will freezing rain and snow until Sunday. *grumble ( Read more... )

::snort:: Yup, only dirty old men are as deeply into fandom as this. ::rolls eyes::

Anyway, I'm glad you reminded me of Heroes pt 2 tonight, because I need to remember to go home and set the VCR. We're having family over for dinner and I'm sure they won't be gone in time.

Yes, the connection is obvious ;).

Alas, you are a better person than I ;). My brother and his girlfriend will be over tonight, and he has been informed that I will anti-social for the hour Stargate is on :).

And in case you were unaware, you are all in fact, strange, greasy haired, old men, in dirty wife beaters, sitting around in a dark room somewhere. That's right, every last one of you. At least according to "he who shall not be contradicted." :P

Weird. My DH has the same theory. Except I think he included "merchant marines" in the description.

So apparently society's perception of people online is that they are all men, either old scary ones, or burly scary ones :D. This amuses me greatly :).

LOL! My BIL thinks the exact same thing.

I know most old greasy hairy men worry about whether or not Sam and Jack will end up together, and whether or not Daniel will ever take his shirt off again. Ok, the latter may just be me...

FYI: I have started the birthday ficcy! I am feeling the S/J love today. :)

Am nervous about tonights ep. I know I'm going to ball my eyes out. *sigh*

It's true! A highly scientific poll of old greasy men determined that the potential romantic entanglements of fictional TV characters, was in fact a matter of great importance! OTP was found to be a key phrase in greasy old men communities :D.

As for Daniel's shirt, you are most certainly not alone in your wondering ;).

I have but one thing to say ;). SQUEE!! :)

Me too :(. I was tearing up at the end of last week. They just reminded me how much I love this character and now...
:( *sniff*

Reminds me of the time I ran across an article (on a geek site) that insisted that all fan fiction is written by filthy-minded, gay fanBOYs. The leaps of logic that had been used to explain why these filthy-minded fanboys would take on female names/identities in order to disguise the fact that they were gay and writing slash were pretty weird.

Heh, I can just image what they came up with. *rolls eyes* That must have been a highly amusing article to read :).

So lets see, now we are all either, greasy old men, scary burly men or filthy minded, gay fanboys ;). Apparently there are no women online at all :D.

There are quite a few male geeks who would prefer to believe that females and their cooties have never managed to invade their online haven.

Then they learn that I have more geek-like education than they do, and that's when the claws come out . . .

It is very odd. I switch back and forth between very female-dominated areas of the Internet (fannish anything) and very male-dominated areas of the Internet (slashdot, various techie lists) and there are many in each that refuse to believe the other exists.

Oh dear, I have to come clean...I'm really a fat balding 55 yr old who has a dead end job in Bora Bora and spends all my time on the internet looking at porn.

It's good to meet so many of you who share my hobby of impersonating a woman.

:snerk:

(Can you tell I'm a bit goofy today?)

Wow. Your abilities in disguising yourself are really astounding, because throughout our six-hour conversation in Starbucks and Jamba Juice, I never guessed. ::snicker::
