Why must people be so fanatical? I was just reading an recent interview with AT, from a Sci Fi magazine, and it sounds like the fanatical S/J shippers have finally pissed AT off. Or at least convinced her they are clinically insane ( Read more... )

Dude, where is this article? I think stuff like that reaches the sci-fi actors easier because of cons. She's never liked the idea of S/J very much , but it sucks that people have made everyone who does look like fanatical idiots. I kind of liked Pete except for that last scene. My only issue is that he's a Deluise and I think Sam is too hot for him, LOL.

I mean, I HATE Tu/T, but I never sent a letter telling JB that she was the devil. For one thing its the WRITERS not the actors.

(I did send a letter in support of T'Pol staying single, but *giggle* I don't think it made alot of impact. :P )

I agree, I would like to see a little S/Jness at the end, but frankly we've already had confirmation of their feelings and that was plenty for me. *shrug*

Here's the relevant piece of the interview. Now that I reread it, she's sounds less angry, and more bewildered. I think I'm the angry one :D.

"I've actually upset most of the female population by
having my character have an affair with this very delectable young man,
because I've betrayed my one true love and lost complete integrity in the
character as a human being. At least according to the letters I've been
getting."

The rest of the article summary is on the sg1_spoilme yahoo list. I didn't post it all in my reply because I don't know how much you want to be spoiled :). If you want to see more, and don't want to join the group, just let me know and I'll send you the rest.

Sending the letter to support T'Pol staying single, is acceptable according the the Matilda7 school of fandom etiquette :D. In fact it is applauded. Now if B&B would only learn how to read, maybe we could have made an impact ;).

And Sam is way too hot for Pete ;), she may even be too hot for Jack :D.

Sam and Jack are true loves? I do kinda like the ship, but in the 'they're never really getting together' way. Poor AT for thinking all her fans feel that way.

'Course we should keep Sam away from all men, 'cause she tends to kill them once they fall in love with her. Poor Pete, your end is just around the bend.

She sure acted like she liked it at Grand Slam. :-o She said that her IDEAL ending for the series would be for Sam to finally accept Jack's "fishing" invitation. And she and MS then both *repeated* the word "fishing" with the kind of emphasis that hinted it would be anything but. :-o

I don't think AT has betrayed anything by Sam being involved with Pete. I think *Pete* betrayed Sam's trust, but that doesn't reflect on Sam, especially when she doesn't even *know* about it. Honestly, I think it would be more untrue to the character, weaken her more, if she wasted her life pining after the one guy she *can't* have, but I've admittedly never been a S/J 'shipper. :-o

I can see why :D. They are a little scary over there at times. Eek!

Thank goodness there is some sanity left in fandom :). There is, right? *worried look*
