Herjolfsnes Challenge: preparations and fundamentals

In October I learned about the Herjolfsnes Challenge on the Neulakko blog; there is also a FaceBook page. Basically the rules are to choose an item from the Herjolfsnes site, using Woven into the Earth and Medieval Garments Reconstructed as resources. Then publish your goals and progress on the FaceBook site. The challenge is 1 year in length and
