I'm seriously less angry about the situation than this leads one to believe.

So I got dumped. By my job. What happened is, essentially, this ( Read more... )

He makes me never want to be anywhere close to the higher levels of middle management. Those jobs slowly kill you from the inside.

Unfortunately, what I'm doing here is making the subtext of the conversation explicit. So while I did make it clear that I was pissed off about the situation and I felt that management handled the situation like a bunch of cocks, it was all on very civil and polite terms. The thing about the MFA is that the MVS department is basically scum in the eyes of the departments who never actually have to deal with the public, and Dickface bears the brunt of all the absurd mandates handed down from on high. I essentially just feel sorry for the guy as I would rather gnaw off my hands than work his job.

Wow, that really fucking sucks. Sounds like something I went through with an absolutely TERRIBLE job, possibly one of the two worst of my life. I was working at a French bistro type place. The managers were all buddy with some very incompetent waitstaff. One time, one of the managers tried to blame me for one of her friend's mistakes. I was getting paid absolute shit at the time (since I was still "technically" in training basically the 2 other waiters would steal my tips and say it was for helping me train, and I couldn't do shit about it), and no way was I going to take flak for something that wasn't my fault, so I told her what-for. Keep in mind, this was this bitch's last night at the place anyway, she was moving to Colorado the next day or something. Well, she tells me to go home early, I'm just like, WHATEVER. So the next day I get a call from the other manager, who apparently sucks at firing people, because all she told me is "you don't need to come in today." So I was like fine, I quit. And she was like, uh no, we don't need ( ... )

Seriously, situations like that just make me doubt that there is any goodness in humanity whatsoever. It's really the shittiest thing ever to feel like you're being arbitrarily fucked over by idiots. I'm glad you told that bitch off! I like to think that all people responsible for shit like that eventually get cancer and die alone.

Well, you know, look on the bright side, you'll have plenty of time to be online from now on. Also you have a promising career in dialogue heavy writing ahead of you. I recommend trying your hand at screenplays.

Well, if I do end up with some manner of office temp job, that is certainly true. And maybe Aaron Sorkin and I can do a thing. At any rate I hear he's a good guy to have around if you're into doing lots of different drugs.

Yeah, he's great until you get busted, then he's all hippy dippy, duck squeezing about how it should be legal and shit. Which is fine, with your pot smoking liberal friends, but the judges don't like it.

if you really said even a sliver of this stuff to the guy who unnecessarily canned you, i'd propose.

It's not to be! As I said to Billy, I was pretty much the very model of politeness and decorum, though I did make it clear that what was happening was absurdly shitty. For better or for worse, I'm the most unconfrontational, peacemaking, drama-hating person ever.
