ahahahaha.
the day began with disappointment because i checked to see the
scheduling and everything was changed. that means: no unicorns. it's
like they fell off the face of the earth. where are they? anyways,
doesn't matter. it was just saddening at first.
kathleen drove us to guelph and we made a pit-stop in toronto. i love car rides.
we finally get to lake island or whatever it's called. it's a
conservation area, so no littering! i fit in well. littering is a sin!
how am i supposed to breath if your garbage is everywhere?? the shuttle
bus is a dollar. pfft! cause i paid $30 to get in here, yeah right i'm
paying a dollar to get there. luckily, a white truck pulls up and goes
"anyone need a ride?" everyone waiting for the shuttle bus gets into
the back. roadtrip! he pretty much drove us directly in front of the
main stage. sweet. killer sweet.
everyones sitting in lawnchairs and on blankets. excellent. me and erin
sit beside this woman who doesn't shave her legs. this indian band
called dya singh is playing. it's really good. when you look at the
people around, you wonder where your own lesbian partner, paisley
skirt, bohemian shirt, ecstasy, and dreadlocks are. there's this woman with
red hair wearing a sparkly silver bandana and a gold dress dancing with
this asian umbrella. then the daughter in the group gets up and starts
doing these bollywood moves. it was so good! they had a wonderful
message too about happiness. i felt happy.
after them it was sarah slean. she's so cute/funny. she bored erin. i liked her. she played sweet ones. she had very dirty feet. but her voice is gorge.
stars came next. their were wonderful. it made me move. the keyboardist
always looked like he was pissed or pissing. emily haines was there.
not on stage, but watching them. and kevin drew from broken social
scene sang ageless beauty with them. at least i think it was kevin
drew, i've been wrong about these things before. haha no i haven't; i'm
purrrrfect. meow. (no i'm kidding though. i pick my nose). there was a
billy bob thorton, chris kattan, lauren graham and jim broadbent when
he was in moulin rouge look-alikes who played the parts of their
friends watching.
iee! then came my family!! ARCADE FIRE!
arcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcade
arcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadearcadeFIYA!
yeaaaah. they completely blew me away again. uuuuuuajkshfakjscna. the
guitar only broke once this time. and i mean, you don't even notice
because there's 80 other things going on. the only complaint i have
about their show is that everyone is doing something interesting so you
never know where to look. frig. awesome. they prolonged power out that
made the world seem as if he was falling down. weird way to describe it.
but true. glorious! waaah. they played cold wind. they didn't play in
the backseat. when they came back for the encore they played tunnels.
then win was like "k, well the police are gonna come kick us off now.
but we have this song called wake up. and if you know how it goes you
can hum along and we'll play it acoustic" then they all jumped off the
stage à la the exact same thing they did at the muchmusic awards. it
excited me and erin to the fullest. win and regine are my adopted musical
parents and arcade fire is my family.
then i got an ice cap and came home.
