So, I know I probably shouldn't post at work, but there's one alumnus here and the students have already been dismissed for the day. The day's already been going slow enough as it is, but I'm gonna have 3 hours with no students which means time will basically start going backwards. :P

I'm getting a little burned out on FFXIII too, actually (I just started chapter 9, mostly because I took a long break due to said burnout). The shiny new game effect has worn off and the walk-fight-cutscene-rinse-repeat-40-times formula is starting to get tedious (and I know they want to show off their shiny graphics, but I'm not sure we need a full-on cutscene for every little tiny conversation between characters, some of which probably wouldn't have been more than optional NPC interactions in the older games

I'm about to return Disk 2 to its FFXIII clamshell coffin never to play it again. The end of chapter 9 boss (you know who I'm talking about) is driving me insane. It was around the 20th time trying to defeat him... I managed to destroy the 4 upside-down heads on either side of the main head, but then he got upset and basically did 9000+ damage attack on my entire party. Instant death.
Plus, I received Just Cause 2 today, so I have something to keep my thumbs busy... for now.

Ugh, I know what boss you mean. -_- The sudden openness of the game has sorta stalled me. I'm really considering going back to Darksiders, but I know if I do I'll never finish FFXIII. You ever play Darksiders by the way? It's awesome!

I'm excited for you guys. :) And I bet you'll already report on stuff I'm interested in without me even mentioning it.

I have not done much upgrading either. :) In fact, none. I think I'm at the beginning of chapter 10. Supposedly chapter 11 is pretty long! Like... maybe as long as the rest combined. I guess we'll find out tho.

It is an odd game, for sure. Did you ever play Lord of the Rings: The Third Age? I liked it a lot. It felt like it stole FFX's combat system (kinda), and it was doing this whole "There are no towns! There is no open world!" stuff long before FFXIII.

HOwever, I never finished it. Got to the end and could NOT win.
