Chapter 2: Destiny

Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin

“Did he hurt you?” Nino yelled, hugging Ohno against his chest.
"N-No." Ohno stammered.
"Don't walk away again." Nino ordered, taking Ohno's hand to bring them back to their camp.
The young guard didn't say a word, the prince understanding his best friend was very angry.

"I'm sorry, Nino, please, stop being angry at me." Ohno finally said.
"I'm not angry." Nino replied coldly.
"But..."
"I was worried sick! Can you imagine how I would have felt if someone had killed you?! You are..."
"I know, the last prince. I think you are only seeing me like that." Ohno cut Nino off and turned his back to him to sleep.
"Ohchan..."
"I'm tired, Ninomiya!" Ohno snapped. The young guard sighed sadly but let it go. He hated making Ohno sad but sometimes, life didn't give you other choices...

The stranger didn't come back despite Ohno's wishes and the next morning, everybody left the camp with a silent (and mostly) sulking Ohno and a sad Nino.

"These guys are really stupid and stubborn." Sho sighed with despair. They walked for five hours without stopping, Ohno staring at the road in front of him and Nino... Nino always throwing looks to his best friend.
"Ohchan?" Nino finally tried.
"Hun?"Ohno mumbled.
"Could you please look at me!" Nino frowned.
"Don't want to." Ohno muttered stubbornly.
"Satoshi Kei Kenta Ohno, I order you to look at me!" Nino said coldly, using every Ohno's names. When Nino was calling him like that, it wasn't a good sign for the young prince who finally raised his eyes toward the guard.
"What?!"
"Stop acting like a child! Sulking is stupid when you know you were wrong!" Nino exclaimed.
"Oh, I'm acting like a child, now?! You think I'm sulking because I did something wrong and made you yell at me?! Stupid Kazu! You never understand my feelings!" Ohno snapped, running away.
"Shit! Satoshi!!!" Nino screamed before chasing him.
"Two children."Sho sighed again.

Ohno ran faster and when he saw a river, used his powers to run on the water and cross it. His blue eyes were shining brightly as anger and sadness were overcoming his heart.

"Satoshi!" Nino yelled.
"I don't want to see you again!" Ohno shouted.

The young prince stared at Nino from the other side of the river, tears rolling down his chubby cheeks.

"Satoshi, please, come back!" Nino implored.
"No, I..."But Ohno never finished his sentence as someone caught him from behind and hit him on the head.
"Satoshi!!!"Nino screamed when a stranger took Ohno's body in his arms before running away.

Ohno opened his eyes with difficulty. His head was aching like hell and his stomach was groaning because of the lack of food since the previous day as he refused the food Nino gave him.

"Where am I?" Ohno whispered, looking around him. He was in a sort of cavern, tied up, with a fire burning in the middle. In the corner, a man was talking with another man. "Who are you?" Ohno asked, making the two guys jump. One of them turned his head toward him. "You're the man I saw yesterday night!" Ohno exclaimed.
The man walked toward him and stared at the young prince for a while before slapping his cheek.
"Killer!" The man yelled, his purple eyes shining brightly.
"I don't know what you mean! I've never killed someone in my whole life. Who are you? Why do your eyes are like mines?" Ohno asked in a pleading tone.
"You're a killer, you're the moon's child!" The man spitted angrily.
"Eh?"
"I saw your tattoo!" The man shouted.
"But... There is a mistake. I am...the last prince... I am trying to save my country..." Ohno stammered, afraid.
"You're not a moon's child?" The man blinked.
"No, I'm not." Ohno nodded with confidence.
"Don't listen to him, Jun, he is lying!"A man yelled.
"But, Akira, he..."
"He killed our families! He is very dangerous, don't listen to his lies!" The man named Akira replied.
"I'm not. I've never killed someone!"Anger started to overcome Ohno's heart, his eyes shining dangerously. Ohno's tattoo, started to shine and a noise resounded in the cavern.
"What are you doing?!" The man yelled.
"I'm.not.a.killer!"Ohno replied coldly before a wave of water invaded the cavern. The men screamed in fear but Ohno didn't stop and untied his hands before swimming outside quickly.

Coughing violently, Ohno looked at the cavern and blinked, seeing a strange violet light. He believed he had seen this Jun flying outside but shook his head.
When he came back, all drench and shivering, Ohno thought Nino would kill him but for his surprise, the guard simply hugged him tightly, whispering apologies before making a fire for his prince who sat down on the ground.

"I'm sorry, Kazu." Ohno whispered, lowering his head.
"What you did was stupid but I'm glad you're okay." Nino smiled.
"I... Sorry." Ohno nodded.
"Sleep, we still have a long road." Nino stroked Ohno's cheek who laid his head on his friend's chest.
"Can I stay in your arms?"
"Of course, crybaby." Nino smirked.
"I'm not." Ohno pouted but buried his face in the white neck happily.
"Yes you are." Nino whispered.

"Stupid powers!"Ohno groaned when the wave he had created hit his face, drenching his whole body.
"Try to be more concentrated and become one with the water's spirit." Sho said softly.
"I'm trying." Ohno muttered, raising his hands to create a new wave. The young prince closed his eyes and took a deep breath, a new energy invading his cells.
"Congratulations, you did it!" Sakurai exclaimed when the water started to turn around Ohno's body before ending in his hands to form a ball.
"It's exhausting." Ohno smiled happily.
"Water bending needs lots of energy at the beginning." Sho grinned.
"How do you know that?" Ohno raised his eyebrows, a bit surprise at Sho's words.
"My grandfather was studying phenomena like your powers and taught me everything."
"You know why I have these powers?!" Ohno exclaimed excitedly.
"He never found why. He told me the last person who had these powers was..." Sho stopped some seconds as if he was wondering if he could tell the truth. "The last one was Shadow."
"Wh-at?" Ohno chocked.
"It was one of his several powers." Sho nodded.
"So, I..."
"Maybe there is a bond between both of you. It would explain your tattoo."
"My tattoo?"
"Yes. Shadow had a tattoo too. There is a legend about this tattoo. They said when Shadow born, he had a twin. Both of them had tattoos on their foreheads. His brother had a blue half-moon and Shadow had a purple half-moon. The purple and blue half-moons were forming one when the brothers were together and gave them incredible powers. There are rumors saying they were lovers, that their bond was so powerful, they needed to be one.
But one day, a man saw the little family and kidnapped Shadow's twin. They said Shadow was so angry that he destroyed everything around him and killed every man who looked like his brother's kidnapper. But Shadow's brother never came back and the young boy killed himself because he couldn't live without his twin."
"It's so sad..." Ohno whispered, tears shining in his eyes.
"Yes. I don't know if the legend is true but Shadow existed and swore he would find his brother whatever the time it would take him."
"When was it?"
"100 years ago. Shadow is dead now but they say if you find Arashi, his country, you still can hear him crying when the wind is blowing." Sho explained.
"He really loved his brother. What was his name?"
"His name was Satoru. They had the same first letter in their first name because of this bond."
"I see." Ohno hugged his legs against his chest, tears rolling down his cheeks. It hurt so much. This story was destroying his heart as if he was the one who had lost his brother. Sho smiled sadly when Ohno started to cry in his knees. The young prince had made lots of progresses with his powers and his will but he wasn't ready for the whole truth.

I'm sorry, Ohno-sama, but it's not the right time for you to know everything.... Sho thought.

After some hours of training, Ohno was laid down on the ground, his hand raised, making some water turn in the air. A frown appeared on the prince's face when the water became violet. Raising his head, Ohno saw the stranger some meters further smirking.

"Who are you?" Ohno asked.
"Maybe your worst enemy." The man chuckled.
"Why do you have the same eyes than me?"
"Because I am special, like you."The man sighed but didn't approach Ohno.
"What's your name?"
"Jun. Matsumoto Jun."
"I'm Ohno Satoshi."
"The last prince, I know." Jun smiled.
"Why did you think I was a killer?"
"Because..." Jun didn't finish his sentence when an arrow sank in his shoulder, making him scream and fall on the ground.
"Run away, Satoshi!" Nino yelled, taking another arrow.
"Stop Kazu, he isn't dangerous!" Ohno screamed.
"Run away!" Nino shouted, a second arrow sinking in Jun's arm.
"Stop!!!"Ohno yelled, covering Jun's body with his when Nino took a third arrow.
"Move back!" Jun groaned.
"No!" Ohno said stubbornly.
"Satoshi, go away!" Nino yelled.
"No! He isn't dangerous!" Ohno's eyes started to shine dangerously, his tattoo on his forehead becoming bright blue.
"Toshi!"
"Stop it, Kazu, please!" Ohno implored.

Nino sighed and released the arrow in his hand. The young prince looked at Jun and grabbed the arrow to pull it off of his body. The stranger screamed in pain but clenched his jaw tightly.

"Hold on!" Ohno whispered. The prince put his hands on the injuries, a bright blue light shining around his hands. After a while, Jun's wounds disappeared, making him gasp.
"How did you do that?!" Jun whined.
"Secret. You should thank me instead of asking personal questions."
"Then, don't use your powers on every stranger who cross your way." Jun smirked.
"You're bored."Ohno pouted.
"And you you are cute." Jun chuckled.
"Who are you?!" Nino yelled, pushing Ohno away in a protective way.
"I'm Jun Matsumoto. Nice to meet you, Ninomiya Kazunari, the best guard of the king."
"How do you know me?"
"Secret."But Jun froze when he saw Sho walking toward them.
"J-un?"Sho stammered.
"Sho." Jun bowed a bit.
"You know each other?"
"Sort of."Sho mumbled. "Can I talk to you?"
"Hun." Jun stood up and followed the older.
"What the fuck?" Nino whispered. They heard a laugh but soon, some screams. When they came back, Sho's eyes were red and Jun was staring at the ground.
"Clean yourself, at least." Sho muttered.

Jun was living in the forest with some friends. He had lost his whole family during the war and was trying to survive and to find his family's killer. He had an older brother who was avoiding the three friends while Jun, more curious, was asking lots of questions.

A noise woke Ohno up and the young prince walked silently toward the river. The sleepy man's eyes widened when he saw Jun, naked, washing his body in the river. His short brown hair was falling on his eyes, drops of water rolling down his body. A violet light was shining around him in the water and Ohno frowned when he saw something weird on the right shoulder blade of Jun. Approaching silently, Ohno soon screamed when an invisible strength pushed him on the ground roughly.

"What are you doing here?!" Jun asked coldly, leaving the water, his beautiful naked body shining with the moon.
"I..." Ohno blushed and looked away, the latter didn't seem uncomfortable by his nakedness.
"Does the view is pleasing you?" Jun smirked, taking a yukata on the ground.
"I... Sorry..."
"Why were you spying me?" Jun's purple eyes shined dangerously.
"I... I only heard a noise and saw you. What was that, do you have powers too?"
"It's none of your business, cutie." Jun smirked, kneeling down to take Ohno's chin in his hand.
"What..."
"Don't ever spy me again or I would have to hit this beautiful chubby face of yours. Forget what you saw." Jun said in a cold voice. "Did you get it?" Ohno nodded, scared. "Good boy." Jun smirked and smacked their lips together in a deep and rough kiss. Ohno moaned loudly, wrapping his arms around the younger's neck. "You've never kissed someone before, haven't you?" Jun smirked and laughed when Ohno blushed deeply. The younger stoop up and left him.
"Asshole!"Ohno screamed, hearing a loud laugh in return.

The next day, Ohno didn't talk to Jun who was smirking in front of the older's anger. With his clean face and body, Ohno had to admit the younger was very gorgeous with his short brown hair, his purple eyes and his sculpted body.

"Something happened?" Nino asked suddenly.
"No." Ohno denied.

They soon joined a new town, Ohno hiding his tattoo with his scarf. Again, the prince's eyes were filled in tears when he saw the misery of the town. Jun wanted to tease the older but stopped when he saw him running toward a young woman on the ground.

"Are you all right?" Ohno asked worriedly, lifting her in his arms.
"I-I'm ok-ay, Ohno-sama." She whispered with a smile and weak voice.
"You..."
"I know you, I know you have a big heart and your kindness will save us." The woman smiled
"Hold on, I'll heal you." Ohno implored.
"No. It's time for me to leave." The woman whispered.
"No, please!"
"Goodbye, young prince. Keep this amazing and kind heart of yours." The woman grinned before closing her eyes.
"No!!" Ohno cried.
"She is gone." Jun put his hand on Ohno's shoulder but the prince pulled away. Jun blinked when he saw the tears rolling down the older's cheeks.
"No!" Ohno cried, pushing the younger's hand away.
"Stop it!" Jun caughtOhno in his arms and walked away, the older struggling with despair.
"Everything is my fault!" Ohno sobbed, burying his face in his hands.
"Why do you think it is?" Jun asked softly.
"Because I'm not strong enough to protect them, I'm so useless!" Ohno hit the ground with his fist, anger shining in his beautiful bright blue eyes.
"If you think your words, then, give up." Jun snapped.
"Wh-at?" Ohno stammered.
"Thinking you're useless and everything is your fault won't help them. They need your strength, not your tears. It's not your fault but Jin's who started this war. You're not God even if you have amazing powers, you're just a man and are trying to do your best for these persons. If you really want to help them, you have to be stronger, not to fall, not to give up even if it's painful. When you'll fall, get up; if you fall, get up. It's what you have to keep in your mind. There will be many obstacles on your way but it will make you stronger and grow up to be more powerful. You can cry, you can scream, you can hit the ground but only to release your pain. Today, your tears are proving this woman was right. You have a big and kind heart but don't fall now because there will be more pain later." Jun said softly, stroking Ohno's cheek.
"Thank you for being here and making me remember who I am and why I am fighting." Ohno whispered with honest eyes.
"Come on, you can release your sadness, you can cry with me." Jun hugged the prince who buried his face in his neck, crying silently.
"Thank you!"

Sho smiled sadly in front of the view. The guard sighed when he heard the familiar steps behind him.

"It was written." The voice whispered.
"I know." Sho sighed.
"They need each other to fight."
"You're late, you know."
"I'm here, now." The man whispered.
"I missed you so much, Masaki." Sho hugged the man whose green eyes were shining brightly.
"I've never really left you, Sho-chan." Aiba cupped Sho's sad face to peck these lips he missed so badly these last years.

To be continued...
